Building 622 – Roof Replacement & Structure Repair

Question 1: Plans show gutters, but SOW doesn't, are we installing gutters?

Answer: There are currently no gutters on the building so no new gutters will be installed.

That will be corrected on the plans.

Question 2: Do we need to perform lead and asbestos testing for the roof?

Answer: No, surveys for lead & asbestos were already conducted.

Question 3: Are the old water lines for swamp cooling connected?

Answer: Yes, old water lines are still connected.

Question 4: Your SOW requests to install permanent D ring roof anchors but they are not identified on your plans for location or quantity, can you clarify?

Answer: D-ring roof anchors shall be installed evenly spaced 12ft apart and shall be able to support 5,000lbs. If possible, the D-ring anchors will be located around the hip & ridge area and 10ft from the roof edge.

Question 5: Currently the building has a metal to divert water from the main entrances, are we required to install a similar diversion metal?

Answer: Yes, diversion metal is required.

Question 6: Just making sure that the Hip and Ridge will have the same warranty/wind resistance as per the shingle? This item could be the difference between winning or losing the bid, greater cost.

Answer: Yes, the Hip and Ridge will have the same warranty / wind resistance & same manufacturer as the shingles.

Question 7: As per plans, the underlayment is currently Titanium PSU 30 can we substitute or not?

Answer: Yes, it can be substituted but technical information needs to be submitted showing that the substitute meets or exceeds the Titanium PSU 30.

Question 8: As per the site visit, we will not be cancelling the water lines on the roof, correct?

Answer: Water lines on the roof will be canceled to have less penetrations on the new roof.
