RFI Response
Q1. I have a question regarding Notice ID W911S2-20-R-88JA. In PWS Section 4.4- A/E Services, it does not list sprinkler design or modification as part of the scope of work. In PWS Part 7-Mechnical Engineering, specifically paragraph 7.3, there is a detailed description on the requirements for fire protection drawings and specs. Is a new sprinkler system, or any sprinkler work, part of the scope of work for this project?
Thank you in advance for your help with this item.
A1. The scope of work does not include complete replacement of the sprinkler system.
The Designer of Record (DOR) shall determine what, if any sprinkler work is required as part of the design to construct the HVAC system and other components IAW UFC's and Building Code Requirements. The specifications written in 7.3 are included in the documents to guide the A/E firm if sprinkler work is deemed necessary.
Q2. I had a question on Factor 1 with respect to Secondary Disciplines
Are you specifically requiring the following documents to be part of the submission package? Would these drawings be examples from projects related to this current project?
(5) Drawings of Existing Structures
(6) Drafting/Computer Aided Design and Drafting
(7) Provide scanned digital PDF copies of existing construction document
(8) Provide scanned digital DGN or DWG copies of existing construction drawings
A2. Part A was updated by removing reference to Secondary Disciplines, and adding Architect to the Primary Disciplines. Synopsis modified to reflect this.
