1. What floor are the systems installed on?

Answer#1: First floor.

2. What is on the floor the system gets installed on like carpet, tile or bare concrete?

Answer #2: Carpet over concrete

3. Is there a loading dock?

Answer #3: A small loading dock leads directly into the area that requires the guttering and deflection installation. The SOW was revised to add this information.

4. Trash removed to client container?

Answer#4: Trash will be removed from the site by the Vendor. The SOW was revised to add this information.

5. What is being stored on each system? Letter size folders for the most part?

Answer # 5 (both questions): A preponderance of items stored in each system are Letter sized folders; however, some books, cassette tapes, and art portfolios are also stored. Additionally, the Government held a site visit on 15 Aug 18 for interested parties to attend and see the installed system and location first hand for quote development purposes.

6. If letter size folders are the letter size folders 9.5"H or 10"H?

Answer#6: Various sizes of folders up to Legal size (8.5”H x 14”L); stored within larger folders; larger folders are then stored in Hollinger boxes (acid free archive approved storage boxes.) Additionally, the Government held a site visit on 15 Aug 18 for interested parties to attend and see the installed system and location first hand for quote development purposes.

7. What is the desired overall height of each system?

Answer #7: Answer response is in work. Additionally, the Government held a site visit on 15 Aug 18 for interested parties to attend and see the installed system and location first hand for quote development purposes.

8. Has a licensed structural engineer determined that seismic tracks are required as shown on the bid diagrams for this zone 1 low seismic risk location or is this an end user requirement that may not be substantiated as such?

Answer #8: The seismic requirement for the tracks in relation to the equipment should be specified in the manufacturer's requirements. It has nothing to do with the seismic requirements for this zone of Virginia nor the seismic requirements for the facility, simply the seismic requirements for the equipment.

9. Will you be posting the shelving elevation drawings so non-Spacesaver brand bidders will know how high the shelving needs to be and how many shelves each shelving unit will have?

Answer #9: The Government has no shelving elevation drawings available. Additionally, the Government held a site visit on 15 Aug 18 for interested parties to attend and see the installed system and location first hand for quote development purposes.

10. Please see attached diagram of REDACTED BY CONTRACTING OFFICER PROPRIETARY. Will this be acceptable if non-Spacesaver brand bidders will be acceptable?

Answer #10: The Government has removed the brand name restriction. All quotes received will be evaluated for technical acceptance to determine if quote meets the requirements as described in the Statement of Work (SOW).

11. Have you considered that the open aisle will not be protected from water above no matter what system you use?

Answer#11: The SOW Objective states, “Install a water deflective system with integrated Cap and guttering.” All quotes received will be evaluated for technical acceptance to determine if quote meets the requirements as described in the Statement of Work (SOW).
