5.1.3 The Contractor shall be responsible for the temporary removal/disconnection and replacement/reconnection of any auxiliary piping, electrical wiring/conduits, duct work, pressurized water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, etc. not expressly associated with the removal and installation of the boilers and storage tanks, but is necessary for the

Contractor as part of the removal/installation of the boilers and storage tanks. Coordination with the COR shall be done prior to any removal/disconnection, replacement/reconnection of any utilities to include electric, gas, water and sewer. COR will direct the Contractor when it is safe for the Contractor to proceed with any removal/disconnection and replacement/reconnection.

5.1.4 The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal of all necessary existing piping, insulation hangers, couplings, elbows, tees, reducing fittings of the existing boilers and storage tanks and replace with new piping, insulation, hangers, couplings, elbows, tees, reducing fittings from the point of where the boilers and storage tanks are situated within the existing mechanical room to where the Contractor proposes the location of the tie-ins to the existing system. Proposed tie-in location shall be reviewed and approved by the Government prior to Notice to

Proceed being issued to the Contractor. New materials shall be of the size and type appropriate for nature of the application or as specified within Section 5 of the PWS.

5.1.5 The minimum size of the two (2) new energy efficient boilers shall be 2650 MBH, natural gas fired, stainless steel condensing boilers.

5.1.6 The minimum size and type of the two (2) new storage tanks shall each be 500 gallon ASME rated tank, 125PSI, jacketed, insulated, glass lined water heater storage tank.

5.1.7 The minimum size and type of centrifugal pump shall be 40GPM iron centrifugal pump, single stage, vertical split case 1-1/2 HP.

5.1.8 The Contractor shall remove all debris associated with this contract and maintain a clean work site area. The contractor’s waste containers (dumpsters) shall be emptied on a weekly basis, more often if the dumpster becomes full. The work area in building 202 is to be kept free debris. No construction debris is to be left next to the building, dumpster, or loose in the area around building 202. The Contractor shall not use any Government dumpsters and/or recycling containers for the contract. Debris removal shall be at Contractor’s own expense.

5.2 Specific Tasks:

5.2.1 The Contractor shall remove the two (2) existing and install two (2) new boilers as approved by the

Government.

5.2.2 The Contractor shall remove the two (2) existing and install two (2) new storage tanks as approved by the

Government.

5.2.3 The Contractor shall remove the existing centrifugal pump and install a new iron centrifugal pump as approved by the Government.

5.2.4 The Contractor shall install all new duct work, piping, tees, elbows, reducing fittings, couplings as approved by the Government and as necessary in order to connect to the existing piping, duct work.

5.2.5 All water piping, tees, elbows, reducing fittings, couplings, etc. shall be wrapped in fiberglass insulation and all service jacket (ASJ), except where valves, shut offs or disconnects prevent the use of insulation.
