QUESTIONS:

1. Is the Government looking to purchase or lease the device? If this is a lease, what will the term be? 36, 48 or 60 months?

Answer: Lease the device for 60 months

2. C.3.1.4 Emulsion Aggregate low melt fine toner - This is a Manufacturer Specific feature/technology, for Fair & Open Competition will you except Similar/equivalent technology?

Answer: yes

3. Paragraph C.3.1.18 requires Common Access Card (CAC) authentication. While production print devices can be accessorized with CAC authentication, Fiery production print controllers do not accommodate CAC. This is the case across the industry. Please confirm that it is acceptable to apply the CAC authentication to the scanning process and to use CAC to lock access to the print device itself, but that Fiery print controller use may be independent of the CAC authentication process.

Answer: confirmed, the CAC authentication to scan process and use the CAC to lock access to the print device itself but that Fiery print controller use may be independent of the CAC authentication process.

4. C.3.1.11 Ability to handle minimum of 64 paper grade/weight (gsm) to 600gsm media to include glossy, photo, label and color media. - Currently the Copier/Printer Industry does not have a Copier/Printer/Scanner device capable of supporting media of 600gsm. Will you accept or change the requirement to 360gsm?

Answer: Willing you accept or change the requirement to 360gsm

5. Does the Government require a Flat Rate service plan that includes all maintenance, parts, labor, supplies (including toner, waste toner, staples, but not paper), and all impressions so no overages are charged? If so, please provide the average monthly black and white and color usage over the last year of the current device being replaced. Or would the Government prefer a base plus overage model of service where the Government pays a relatively low monthly service base fee but pays for B&W and color overages when the device exceeds its allowance? These overages would be paid for quarterly.

Answer: total usage is 157227, color 143131 and black 14096. we currently don’t have overages nor quarterly payment for usage. Yes, the Government require a Flat Rate service plan that includes all maintenance, parts, labor, supplies (including toner, waste toner, staples, but not paper), and all impressions so no overages are charged.
