The AoI encompasses three primary waste streams: household waste (approximately 1,566,200 lbs in FY2025), asbestos waste including regulated asbestos-containing material (approximately 25,000 lbs), and industrial waste including demilitarized military equipment, construction debris, petroleum-contaminated materials, and treatment plant sludge (approximately 6,259,600 lbs). ANAD currently operates approximately 397 collection containers, consisting of approximately 250 dumpsters for household waste, 2 roll-off boxes for asbestos waste, and 145 roll-off boxes for industrial and special waste.

Interested vendors must submit written solutions via email by 4:00 P.M. CDT on May 11, 2026, with subject line "SOLUTION for Specific AoI 005 Solid Waste Disposal." The AoI operates under Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) authority derived from Section 803 of the National Defense Authorization Act for FY2022. All selected contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (sam.gov). The solicitation requires compliance with Alabama environmental regulations, federal environmental laws (Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act), and OSHA standards.
