7447983 Contracting Detail Detail Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

We have questions concerns the specifications as written. We are wondering that if the crane in the pictures has been performing the work described, why the specifications are so demanding. The crane in the pictures would not be capable of the stringent requirements in the RFQ. If the government is looking to replace the existing crane with a crawler type crane that can perform similar to it we would be able to provide a proposal.

On: May 01 2018.

Government Response. . The U.S. Corps of Engineers has been using two cranes to complete the work. These demanding requirements fulfills a need to reduce price of annual up keep of the facility by eliminating the need for two cranes.

Large-scale infrastructure development, project investments, innovation, and strategic alliances remain to be the key growth strategies. Companies dominating construction equipment market share include Doosan, Hitachi, Volvo, Komatsu, John Deere, and Caterpillar. In 2012, 15 crane manufactures were ranked among the world's 50 largest construction equipment manufactures. The crane manufacturers were; Hitachi (4th), Liebherr (5th), Sany (6th), Zoomlion (7th), Terex (8th), XCMG (11th), Kobelco (13th), Liugong (17th), Manitowoc (20th), Sumitomo (24th), Tadano (29th), Palfinger (30th), Kato (38th), Telcon (40th) and Furukawa (41st).

It is the arctic. The arctic has demanding needs and market research leads USACE to believe that a manufactures exist that meet this requirement. On: May 02 2018
