About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation W81K00-26-Q-A000, addressing clarifications on chemo gowns and cleanroom frocks required by Brooke Army Medical Center at JBSA Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.

The document clarifies key product specifications and submission requirements. Chemo gowns and frocks must be manufactured from microporous fluid-resistant fabric technology, be USP 800 compliant, and tested to ASTM F3267-22 standards. This is not a brand-name-or-equal requirement. Pricing is structured in 30-pack units (PAK), where one PAK equals a single 30-count pack; for example, CLIN 0001 at 40 PAK equals 1,200 individual gowns. Product samples are not required for submission; written capability statements and product literature alone are sufficient to demonstrate technical capability. Regarding CLIN 0003 (Chemo Gowns in 4X-Large/5X-Large sizes) and corresponding option year CLINs, the Government indicated willingness to consider equivalent chemotherapy-rated protective coveralls as alternate products if they meet or exceed applicable protection requirements and are supported by compliance documentation, subject to approval by the Clinical Pharmacist based on ASTM compliance. Quotes are due by 11:00 AM/CT on 8 June 2026, submitted via email, with questions due by 8:00 AM/CT on 4 June 2026. Offerors must complete SF1449 forms and provide a statement committing to hold quotes firm for at least 90 days from the due date.

Questions and Answers - W81K0026QA181

Q: Specifications / salient characteristics: The schedule lists each item by description and size only. Are there salient characteristics or a product specification sheet (e.g., fabric/material, fluid-resistance or barrier rating, sterility, ASTM/AAMI level) for the chemo gowns and cleanroom frocks?

A: They are made of microporous (fluid resistance) fabric technology, USP 800 compliant, ASTM F3267-22 tested.

Q: Is this a brand-name-or-equal requirement and, if so, what is the reference brand and part number?

A: No.

Q: Quantity / unit of measure: Each CLIN is described as a "30-pack" with quantities stated in "PAK." Please confirm that one PAK equals a single 30-count pack i.e., that CLIN 0001 at 40 PAK equals 1,200 individual gowns.

A: Yes, PAK equals a single 30-count pack.

Q: Please confirm whether product samples are required as part of the Factor 1 - Technical Capability submission, or whether a written capability statement and/or product literature alone is sufficient.

A: No product samples required. Written capability statement and/or product literature alone is sufficient.

Q: For CLIN 0003, Chemo Gowns (4X-Large/5X-Large) (30-pack), and the corresponding option year CLINs for the same 4X-Large/5X-Large chemo gown requirement, would the Government accept an equivalent chemotherapy-rated protective coverall as an alternate product, provided the item meets or exceeds the applicable protection requirements and is supported by product literature and compliance documentation?

A: Depending on the ASTM approval, I can definitely run any substitutes by the Clinical Pharmacist for approval.
