About this file

This Request for Quote (RFQ) W911S626QA001 Amendment 1 provides details about a solicitation for CS110 Electric Field Meter (EFM) repair services. The amendment includes questions and answers regarding equipment calibration, specifically addressing temperature range testing for the internal CR1000 datalogger. The OEM (Campbell Scientific) confirms calibration is performed over the standard temperature range of -25°C to +50°C, with an optional extended temperature range of -55°C to +85°C available for specific units.

Key changes in the amendment include correcting CLIN 0003 to specify CS110 Electric Field Meter Repair (materials/parts) with a 1 JOB unit of measure, adding Option Period 1 and Option Period 2 to the pricing table, and extending the response deadline to Tuesday, January 13, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. MST. The solicitation appears to be issued by a federal agency, likely related to military or defense procurement given the RFQ number prefix W911.

Questions/Answers and Summary of Changes

12 January 2026

Vendor Question 1:

The quote, requests to validate the performance over the temperature range (-25° to+50°C).

The calibration procedure from the OEM, does not include this in the procedure, it addresses only the electrically characteristics of the instrument, under ambient conditions. The OEM does offer an option, (-40° to +85°C) that allows for more extreme weather conditions, which are engineered to conform to this capability, however, should the validation of performance of the extreme environmental envelope be required, please confirm this request.

Per the OEM, electric field meters are typically factory calibrated using a parallel plate method, where a uniform electric field is developed by applying a known voltage between parallel conductive plates. The procedure does not perform a test over the temperature range (-25C to +50C).

Please confirm the requirement to test the system, over this temperature range.

Government Answer Question 1:

The OEM calibration procedure is published here: https://www.campbellsci.com/31479.

This is what the solicitation and PWS specifies.

None of the units need to be tested at extreme temperatures (-40° to +85°C).

OEM validated the following:

Campbell Scientific is the OEM for the CS-110. As stated in the published service description at https://www.campbellsci.com/order/31479, the internal CR1000 datalogger is calibrated to meet factory specifications and is tested over the standard temperature range (-25 deg C to +50 deg C).

If the CS-110 was originally purchased as an Extended Temperature unit, the internal CR1000 will be tested over the extended temperature range, (-55 deg C to +85 deg C).
