Questions and answers

Question #1: We have gone through all attachments uploaded on the portal, but there is no details regarding inlet parameters of the effluent in the documents which is important aspect for design consideration. Effluent being mentioned as industrial, it is primary requirement for the modification consideration.

Government’s answer: The scope of work consists in the modification of the existing sewage treatment system plant by inserting a denitrification phase after the oxygenation phase for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate abatement. The basins are existing and don’t need to be sized. Effluent is indicate in the SOW as industrial and is made up of the sewage of the various buildings of the Base (offices, supermarkets, canteen) and the vehicle washing systems. The requested data is not necessary as the Scope of Work already defines how to abate the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate and the modifications that are necessary to the existing treatment system.

Question #2: Related to the Project ES 00092-1P “Modification of Depot Waste Water Treatment Plant BDLG 5672 Depot Area”, I would have this request of information:

In chapter 2.3 "Mechanical systems" in paragraph 4, the connections and piping required for the new pumps are described. "Steel pipes are not allowed, except stainless steel". Does this mean that HDPE pipes are allowed? For both underground and above ground pipes?

Government’s answer: Yes, HDPE pipes are allowed for both underground and above ground pipes.
