ADDENDUM 002

PROJECT AA1 00212-6 Repair Upgrade ASA Roads, SW Area

At the end of paragraph 10d-03 of technical specification, add the following:

The stem must be single, as straight as possible, with a maximum arching of 5 °, it must have no wounds and the collar must be intact and have no scarring calluses and must be devoid of co-dominance (presence of branches of equal strength inserted at the same height).

The main branches must be well spaced, there must not be branches with a diameter greater than 1/3 of the trunk and there must be no vertical branches and not evenly distributed along the trunk.

On the sides, the insertion of the branches on the stem must have a rather open angle compatible with the species.

The crown must be dense and compact, well distributed on the stem and not show lateral compressions. The apical arrow must have a central guide and clearly visible (source Assoverde).

Auxiometric ratios of sod plants:

1. the height of the plant must have a ratio of 25/30 times the circumference of the trunk, but also taking into account the typical proportions of the species;

2. diameter of the clod between 2.5 and 3 times the circumference of the stem measured at 100 cm height height of the clod equal to 2/3 of the diameter of the clod;

3. the circumference measured at the collar must be greater than 20% of the circumference measured at 100 cm on the stem (flare ratio).

The hole, for planting the plants, must be as large as possible and in any case not less than 1.5 times the width and height of the clod or container. When augers or mechanical means are used to form holes, compaction of the walls of the hole must be avoided. The excavation depth should allow for planting of the plants so that the uniform design level of the soil and the collar are at the same height. When planting plants with clods, the nets or cloths that wrap them must be loosened and these must be removed. The planting of the trees must take place in relation to the finished altitudes, taking care that the plants do not have roots in the open and, once the soil has settled, they are buried beyond the level of the collar. The clod packing made up of degradable material (hemp, straw, jute, etc.), must be cut at the collar and open on the sides without removing it from under the clod; only the metal ties and excess packaging material should be removed. The clod must be intact, sufficiently humid, adhering to the roots; if it is too dry to be temporarily immersed in water with all the packaging. The same must be done for plants supplied in containers. Before filling the holes, the trees of considerable size must be made stable by means of support poles, anchors and ties. The holes are then definitively filled with cultivated soil, carefully tamping it so that there are no gaps around the roots or the clod. When the filling is complete, a basin or basin must be formed around the plants for water retention. Irrigation should be done immediately afterwards in abundant quantities, to facilitate the recovery of the plant and facilitate compaction and settlement of the earth around the roots and the clod.

The ideal time for planting transplants is the period of quiescence, when temperatures are not too low to damage the material. Therefore, it is advisable to prefer autumn and early spring.

However, the planting of the essences must not be carried out in periods of frost, nor in periods in which the earth is totally saturated with water as a result of rain or rising of the aquifer. In general, it is advisable to plant the trees between mid-October and mid-April, avoiding the freezing phase of the ground (December-January).

Monitoring of the planted species must be provided for at least five (5) years after implantation, in order to verify the percentages of engraftment and replace any failures and for the removal of the stakes.

All the plants to be used for planting shall came from nurseries in the Tuscany Region and met the traceability requirements in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 22005: 2008 standard and subsequent amendments and additions, which replaced the national supply chain traceability standards (UNI 10939 : 2001) and company traceability (UNI 11020: 2002).

New plants shall be not less than 1.5 meter of height. See typical tree planting detail below.

Typical Tree Planting Detail

With reference to paragraph 10d-05 of technical specification, the sentence:

Protection of bedded plants The areas where the plants might be damaged by the passage of people or vehicles shall be protected by the Contractor with appropriate wire or wood fencing, trellis, etc is replaced by

Protection of bedded plants The plants shall be protected in order to avoid boars and deers eat them. Plants protection shall be done for each singular tree with appropriate wood fencing or shelter; alternatively the Contractor shall realize a wood fencing protecting the entire area where the trees are planted.

ADDENDUM 002

PROGETTO AA1 00212-6 Repair Upgrade ASA Roads, SW Area

1. l’altezza della pianta deve avere un rapporto di 25/30 volte la circonferenza del tronco tenendo conto però anche delle proporzioni tipiche delle specie;

2. diametro della zolla compreso tra 2,5 e 3 volte la circonferenza del fusto misurata a 100 cm di altezza altezza della zolla pari a 2/3 del diametro della zolla;

Typical Tree Planting Detail

Protezione delle piante a dimora Le piante devono essere protette per evitare che cinghiali e daini le mangino. La protezione delle piante deve essere effettuata per ogni singolo albero con un'apposita recinzione o riparo in legno;
