PART 5
SPECIFIC TASKS
5. Specific Tasks:
5.1. Basic Services. The contractor shall provide services for rigging to install and relocate optical tables from the existing laser laboratory to the new laser laboratory.
5.2. Tasks. Four separate visits will be required, with intervals of approximately one or two weeks between each visit.
5.2.1 Transport two new 8’ x 4’ x 18” Optical Tables (approx. 1950 lbs each) from Bldg 249 (Receiving Dock) to the newly constructed Laser Lab area in Bldg. 200-C (0.7 miles). Uncrate outside of Cleanroom, move into new Laser Lab Cleanroom, and install on 8 Vibration Isolation support legs in specified location (short pulse lab).
Position according to the dimensions with respect to the walls and curtains on the Layout attachment (so that there is enough clearance to walk around the tables in order to meet safety requirements). Connect the two 8-foot-long tables using dovetail-slide-joint connections. Level joined Optical Tables. The Vibration Isolation legs should be adjusted so that they are near the top of their adjustment range, to give maximum height under the table for storage.
5.2.2 Approximately 1-2 weeks later, remove one 12’ x 4’ x 12” Optical Table (approx. 1808 lbs) from old Laser Lab, transport approximately 100 feet to new Laser Lab, and install on 4 new Vibration Isolation support legs in specified location (High Energy Laser lab) according to the dimensions from the walls and curtains on the attached Layout. Move one 4’ x 3’ x 4” Optical Bench from the old Laser Lab to the new Laser Lab, in the High Energy Laser lab area, at the end of the 12’ x 4’ x 12” Optical Table. Level the Optical Table and Optical Bench near the maximum height of the Vibration Isolation legs.
5.2.3 Approximately 1-2 weeks later, remove one 10’ x 4’ x 12” Optical Table (approx. 1416 lbs) from old Laser Lab, transport approximately 100 feet to new Laser Lab, and install on 4 new Vibration Isolation support legs in specified location (ns Nd:YAG lab). It may be necessary to move this Optical Table with the optics still bolted to the top of the table, so it must remain horizontal during transit. Level the Optical Table near the maximum height of the Vibration Isolation legs.
5.2.4 Approximately 1-2 weeks later, disconnect one 8’ x 4’ x 12” Optical Table (approx. 1100 lbs) from U-Table (via Table-Yoke) in old Laser Lab, transport approximately 100 feet to new Laser Lab, and install on 4 new Vibration Isolation support legs in specified location (ns Dye Laser lab). Disconnect one 7’ x 4’ x 12” Optical Table (approx. 1220 lbs) from U-Table (via Table Doubler) in old Laser Lab, transport approximately 100 feet to new Laser Lab, and install on 4 new Vibration Isolation support legs in a specified location (ns Dye Laser lab).
Transport one 12’ x 3’ x 12” Optical Table (approx. 1344 lbs) approximately 100 feet from old Laser Lab to new Laser Lab and install on 4 Vibration Isolation support legs in a specified location (ns Dye Laser Lab). Re-assemble 3 Optical Tables into former U-Table configuration via Table Doubler and Table Yoke. Level the joined 3-table assembly near the maximum height of the Vibration Isolation legs.
5.3. CONTRACTOR MANPOWER REPORTING (CMR) The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower & Reserve Affairs) operates and maintains a secure Army data collection site where the Contractor shall report ALL Contractor manpower (including subcontractor manpower) required for performance of this contract.
