Questions:
1. What are the ruff opening dimensions of the entrance to the building and the room’s?
The attached PowerPoint titled, “Layout for Optical Tables in New Laser Lab-Rigging Placement” shows the openings associated with the new laser lab. Interior access will be via door 101A and 100A. Exterior access will be via doors 112B and 112A. All of these doors are standard double doors (approx. 6' wide x 7' tall). The old laser lab has a double door to the interior hallway (approx. 6' wide x 7' tall). How this will connect with door 101A is yet undetermined due to the current construction. There is a single door (approx. 3' wide x 7' tall) on the south wall of the building thru which optical tables may be taken from the old laser lab and out around to door 112B if necessary.
2. Do you have a loading dock on site?
Yes, Building 249 is our loading dock and that is the planned location for the delivery of the new optical tables. It is located approximately 0.7 miles away from the work site.
3. Is a truck accessible to the building for disposal or pick up of the old tables?
The old optical tables are just being moved from the old lab to the new lab. They are not being disposed of. We can arrange for the shipping/receiving contractor to deliver the new optical tables and vibration isolator legs from the receiving dock to the work site in their truck.
4. Is the contractor able to keep the removed laser table assemblies?
The old optical tables are being moved from the old lab to the new lab and put into use. There will, however, be old vibration isolation legs that will be replaced with new vibration isolation legs. Any of the old vibration isolation legs may be turned over to the contractor for removal or disposal pending COR approval.
5. Does the USG have a mini-mobile for-lift available?
If it is necessary, it would need to be provided by the contractor. Please keep in mind that the work site is a Class 10,000 Cleanroom and consideration should be given to the cleanest way of safely moving the equipment into place.
6. Does it take a regulator or pressurized air?
The vibration isolation legs do take pressurized nitrogen, but this is not the contractor's responsibility. The contractor is responsible for moving, positioning, assembling, and leveling the optical tables on the vibration isolation legs without floating. TARDEC personnel will install the regulators, etc. for floating the tables at a later date, but they must be level when they come to rest when not floating.
7. How is it fastened to the floor? Is it bolted or mounted with the old and new optical table?
The legs are not fastened to the floor. The legs are fastened to the undersides of the optical tables via Newport’s special interface that clamps the disk seen on top of the vibration isolation legs in the pictures on the website: http://www.newport.com/Vibration-Control---Custom-and-OEM-Solutions-Doub/154649/1033/info.aspx via clamps that bolt to the underside of the tables.
8. Can you send me a diagram and photos of the new table? Please provide us the make and model information.
The following is a link to information on the new optical tables: http://www.newport.com/SmartTable-Upgradable-Optical-Tables/603252/1033/info.aspx
They have a dimension of 4’ wide X 8’ long X 18” thick and are joined end-to-end by a “doubled” interface described here: http://www.newport.com/Vibration-Control---Custom-and-OEM-Solutions-Doub/154649/1033/info.aspx
