About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract solicitation W51AA1-26-Q-A079, Tower Inspection and Maintenance, as of August 13, 2026.

The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding inspection and maintenance requirements for multiple tower structures, including an LMR Tower, Building 32 Platform, 100 Ft Tower Track Tower, and 330 Ft Tower. Key clarifications provided include: the contractor must ground all perimeter fence areas as deemed necessary per industry standards and Unified Facilities Criteria; excavation of guy anchors is permitted for inspection purposes; contractors are responsible for clearing overgrowth in guy lanes and anchor areas as needed; and before and after photos are allowed pending camera pass and security review approval. The Government confirmed plans to extend the solicitation closing date beyond the original deadline, with a specific extension to August 19, 2026 requested. Regarding material pricing for CLIN 0003, the Government directed contractors to verify quantities, sizing, and specifications during site visits in accordance with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) code and TIA-222 standards for guyed towers, rather than providing predefined quantities. The contractor inquiry referenced specific PWS requirements across all tower types, including quantities and specifications for warning signs, structural bolts, turnbuckle safeties, thimbles, guy-wire markers, safety wire, cathodic protection, cotter pins, coax hangers, grounding components, and removal of unused antennas and equipment.
