Question 1:

Is there any work that will need to be done on the existing sampling wells? I did not notice the linework for these on the plans, and just confirming these will not have to be adjusted.

Question 2:

In the SOW it states that an EM 385 SSHO will be required by the contractor. Can this individual also serve as the QCM and Superintendent? If the answer to that question is no, can the QCM and Superintendent be the same individual? If that answer is no, are we to assume that we must have three individuals on site, one serving as the Superintendent, one serving as the CQC QCM, and one serving as the EM 385 SSHO.

There will be no additional compensation if the contractor elects to remove the tracks. The tracks must be level when finished.

Question 4:

The ballast and subballast material, can we use local suppliers that match the gradation or do we need Arema approved materials (hardness)? If it is Arema approved, what would be the classification?

Response 4:

The ballast material must meet AREMA approved material specificaitons. The ballast shall be AREMA #5 classification. The subballast shall meet AREMA Standard 4A Gradation.

Question 5:

The specifications and descriptions are a little unclear, is trench backfill required under paved surfaces? (Aggregate backfill from top of bedding around pipe to the bottom of the pavement subbase)?

Response 5: Storm and sanitary sewer trench backfill shall have aggregate backfill from the top of bedding around the pipe to the bottom of the pavement subbase for all locations under paved surfaces. Storm and Sanitary pipes outside of paved surfaces require aggregate backfill from the top of bedding around the pipe to 12 inches above the pipe. After meeting the 12 inches above the pipe the existing trench material may be used to backfill to the surface unless otherwise noted.

This is correct, Working days will not be charged for Saturdays (unless a mandatory six-day work week is specified in the contract documents.

Question 7: In the past, contracts have been put on winter hold with no working days charged due to weather, will this contract have this?
