The following have been added by full text:

AMENDMENT 0002

The purpose of this amendment is to:

1. Answer the following Contractor questions:

a. Are there any drawings of the floor structure available?

Answer: Please see Attachment 0010 Structural Initial for Stone Shops.

b. Can we get a copy of the latest structural study/evaluation report that references the load bearing capacity of the floor?

Answer: We are attaching the structural analysis for Building 104 which is typical for all the stone shops (Attachment 0011 Floor Study Report).

c. Is the area structural to allow an electrical lift? If area is structural to allow an electrical lift, is there an option to get lift into the area?

Answer: Existing building floor load limits signs state 67lbs. but latest structural study established a Safe Floor Load Limits on the 3rd floor not to exceed 45lbs. per square foot. Contractor means & methods of construction. Refer to Attachment 0003 G-003 General Demolition/Repairs Notes and 3rd floor Safe Floor Load Limits of 45lbs. per square foot.

d. What is the existing floor made of?

Answer: Wood decking supported by steel beams.

e. Is this reduced load limit because the flooring material can’t handle the weight or because the floor joists can’t handle the weight, or both? (Determining if we can bring in say ¾” plywood or scaffold planks, to lay down in work areas and distribute the load, so we can use some type of staging to reach the ceiling.)

Answer: Both. You can bring load distribution materials.

f. Is putting an opening in the roof decking and dropping scissor lifts into the 3rd floor with a crane an option?

Answer: Contractor means & methods but notice that building floor load limit signs state 67lbs. but latest structural study established a Safe Floor Load Limits on 3rd floor not to exceed 45lbs. per square foot.

g. Are the rafters that the 1 by materials attached to wood or steel?

Answer: Existing rafters are wood 4 ¾” x 2 ½” @ 24” on center.

h. Believe penetrating the beam currently supporting the sprinkler system is not acceptable. What is the planned attachment for the new sprinkler hangers?

Answer: Attach to existing wood rafters in accordance with NFPA 13.

i. Can it be clarified that sprinkler piping will not be removed and protection of piping and sprinklers shall be provided by others. Especially during the removal of board and batten, and installation of the spray foam.

Answer: Existing sprinkler piping will not be removed. Protection of piping and sprinklers is responsibility of Prime Contractor.

j. If scaffolding is required, can it be clarified to be covered by others?

Answer: Responsibility of Prime Contractor.

k. Should the ceiling/spray foam/rehanging sprinklers portion of this project be removed until something is done to strengthen the floor?

Answer: No

l. How are the 1 by material currently attached and with what type of fasteners?

Answer: Nails were used to attach the 1 by material.

2. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
