AMENDMENT 0001

The purpose of this amendment is to:

1. Answer the following Contractor questions:

a. Is there a freight elevator that can be used to get a man-lift or scaffolding to the top floor for installation of the spray insulation?

Answer: The elevator is not in service. If Contractor removes window sash, it needs to be reinstalled to current operable condition. Contractor has option to utilize existing roof hatches for access.

b. Section 2.4 of the SOW states: Contractors and sub-contractors shall be licensed in the State of

Illinois according to the work they are performing. If applicable to a trade or profession, workers shall be licensed as required by local municipality or by the State of Illinois. Will the successful bidder be required to hold a roofing license in Illinois?

Answer: Yes. The required licensing applies to actual onsite work the Prime contractor/subcontractor would be performing. Per FAR 52.236-7 Permits and Responsibilities, the Contractor shall, without additional expense to the Government, be responsible for obtaining any necessary license and permits, and for complying with any Federal, State, and municipal laws, codes and regulations applicable to the performance of the work.

c. Can lifts be used inside if they meet the low live load requirements or, should all bids include the complete erection and removal of scaffolding inside the 3rd floor space?

Answer: Contractor means and methods of construction. See Attachment 0003 General Demolition/Repair Note #3 and #4 on G-003. Take into consideration the Safe Floor Limits on the 3rd floor not to exceed 45lbs per square foot.

d. Please confirm if a temporary support and / shoring system is needed to support live loads on the attic floor in order to install the spray Foam.

Answer: Contractor can bring temporary load distribution material to distribute live loads.

e. Can it be confirmed that elevator #7 is not in service? If elevator does not work. Should all bids include labor and equipment on debris removal of the 1 by material out of the attic, through a window opening or attic hatch?

Answer: Elevator is not in service. If Contractor removes window sash, it needs to be reinstalled to current operable condition. Contractor has the option to utilize existing roof hatches for access. See Attachment 0003, Note #1 under General Demolition/Repair.

W519TC24R2001

f. Should bids include plastic masking of the entire floor, walls, sprinkler system and any other equipment inside the building, for protection from insulation overspray?

Answer: As noted in Attachment 0003, G-003 in General Note #5 and General Demolition/Repairs Note #9, Contractor is responsible for protecting the job site, including interior and exterior areas subject to falling debris from roofing activities. See Keynote #14 in A-101 (Protect Fire & Electrical Equipment as needed to insulate the roof without over spray or drip of insulation on the or onto any other surface.)

g. Is the 1x material tongue and groove?

Answer: Yes, 90% of the material is tongue and groove and the remaining is regular planks, but all material is to be removed.

2. Attach the site visit sign in sheet. Please see Attachment 0009, dated 13 November 2023.

3. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
