W50S9F-21-Q-0001 Solicitation Question/Answer #2
Question #1:
“Walls may be painted drywall or paneled.”
Would vinyl covered gypsum drywall be acceptable? It is the industry standard wall finish.
Answer #1:
Yes, vinyl covered gypsum drywall is acceptable.
Question #2:
“Floors shall be carpeted except entry areas shall have a floor suitable for wet or snow-covered shoes.”
Please clarify the carpet requirement. The least expensive solution is either 20 oz or 26 oz olefin carpet installed as 12’ wide roll goods. Or would you be interested in 24” x 24” carpet tile (with or without no flow through vinyl backing)?
Answer #2:
Either carpet option is acceptable. We do not however; expect the carpet to be worn-out over the period we are using the facilities.
Question #3:
Do you have an anticipated award date?
Answer #3:
It is our intention to award this contract ASAP and begin execution in the most expeditious manner possible.
Question #4:
Are you still granting the 105 days from contract signature to the buildings being delivered and fully installed?
Answer #4:
The 105 days was established based on lead times provided as part of market research that was conducted, note that each CLIN states, “Period of Performance will be updated at time of award to reflect actual dates.” Finally, the solicitation states that contract award will result from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the
Government, price and other factors considered. In evaluating proposals that may be most advantageous to the government, lead times would fall under the technical portion of the evaluation in making a final determination.
