SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION 00800 - SPECIAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS
The following have been modified:
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
KC-135 Support Shops Q&A
1. Is the grade work for Option # 3 Light Duty Asphalt to be included in the base bid or in
Option # 3?
A: The grade work for the Light Duty Asphalt shall be included in the base bid. The contractor will construct the parking lot up to the base stone/gravel section for the base bid. Binder and wearing course are Bid Option #3.
2. Will the brick on the new buildings match the brick on the new hangar?
A: Yes, Utility (Jumbo) brick will be used for the field brick and modular brick for the soldier coursing.
3. HARDWARE SETS LISTED ON DOOR SCHEDULE BUT NOT FOUND IN SPEC OR ON PLAN
PAGES. PLEASE ADVISE.
A: Hardware sets were inadvertently left out of the final specifications set for section 08 71 00 Door Hardware. This specification section will be provided herein.
4. Painting specification 09 00 00 section 3.12.1, calls for field finished wood doors. In the past, the Base has preferred factory finished wood doors. Please confirm the intent.
A: Part 3.12.1 in Painting spec 09 90 00 refers to Paint Tables for exterior ferrous and non‐ferrous metal. Part 3.12.2 Division 6,A includes stain requirements for interior doors, but does not specifiy that they are field stained. However, the type of stain (clear) is incorrect. This section will be modified to include the correct factory finish for all interior doors.
5. Earthwork specification 31 00 00, section 1.4.1 calls for Unclassified Excavation. Is this correct? This will significantly increase the risk and cost of excavation due to unknown quantities of unsuitable soils and rock that may be encountered. This is especially true if undercutting and treating the entire site is required for the Soil Cement Modification mentioned above. In the past, the Base preference has been to price the work as classified excavation and pay for unsuitable soils and rock removal (if required) on an as needed basis.
Please clarify.
A: Yes, consider this unclassified excavation.
6. CS101 Base bid and Option 03 parking. Is there a curb at the perimeter of the parking lot? I have not found notes or details showing curbs. Please clarify the intent.
A: The parking lot will have a curb and gutter and should be included in the base bid.
Refer to detail D1/CS501.
7. In the lighting legend the “H” fixture is listed as under cabinet, but it is indicated as an overhead light – can you confirm what this fixture should be?
A: The Type H luminaires shown in the ceiling systems is a typo. Refer to keynote 2 on drawing EL121. All luminaires shown within the wood panel ceiling systems must be provided by the manufacturer of the wood ceiling system. These luminaires are not defined in the luminaire schedule. The contractor must coordinate with the ceiling manufacturer per the keynote and provide luminaires that meet the requirements. The break room must be provided with an average of approximately 30 foot candles and the corridor areas must be provided with an average of approximately 5 foot candles.
8. The “D” Fixture is indicated as a can light, but there are some under cabinet lights indicated as “D” Fixtures on EL121 – can you confirm what these fixture should be?
A: The D type fixture is a can light. The undercabinet luminaires are mislabeled as D type luminaires and must be provided as Type H undercabinet luminaires.
9. The reflected ceiling plan (sheet AC‐111) shows acoustic ceiling in room # 3119. The finish schedule on sheet I‐601 is calling for exposed structure. Can you please clarify which one the government desires.
A: Sheet I‐601 is incorrect. Revise the ceiling finish to be ACT‐2.
10. The door schedule specifies hardware set numbers 1 thru 24, there is no hardware schedule on the drawings nor in the specifications. Can you provide the hardware schedule?
11. There is no hardware set number scheduled for doors 3120A, 3139 A and 3139 B. Can you please provide set number?
12. Regarding the wood veneer casework, can the interiors of the cabinets be white melamine?
This would reduce the cost of finishing as only the fronts and front edges would require finishing as well as finished ends.
A: No. Cabinets must be solid, veneered wood, factory‐stained inside and out, with the exception for ABA removable vanity covers which shall be plastic laminate per sheet I‐601.
13. Base bid question – Only 2 ADA/ABA parking areas and a small tie in to existing asphalt are shown for new asphalt. Will there be any curb & gutter for the base bid specifically in the parking area that is shown to get gravel? CS101 shows a curb wipe down note but no actual curb & gutter note on this sheet.
A: The parking lot will have a curb and gutter and should be included in the base bid.
Refer to detail D1/CS501.
14. Bid option #3 – If curb & gutter is not in base bid, will it be included in this option?
A: Curb and gutters are included in the base bid. Refer to D1 /CS501.
15. Bid option #5 – There are 2 notes about connection for new pavement to repair pavement but the whole area is shaded for new asphalt pavement. Please verify all light shaded gray area is new light duty asphalt.
A: Correct. The existing access road from Briscoe Drive to the existing perimeter fence will be demolished to the base stone, proof rolled and re‐paved. Refer to sheet CD102. A new road is also being constructed once all the buildings and existing asphalt are demolished in the area. This road will connect the repaired access drive from the existing perimeter fence to the existing asphalt shoulder on the lower ramp. Both areas will be paved using the light duty asphalt detail. Refer to A3/CS501
16. On Sheet I‐401 (A1) ; Who would be responsible for “Antimicrobial Color Matched Silicone Sealant”?
A: The tile installer will need to provide this sealant.
17. Drawing I‐110 shows areas (3102, 3103, 3104, 3108, & 3109) to receive PFT‐3. Do we figure 12” x 24” or 24” x 36” tile?
A: Sheet 1‐403 shows enlarged finish plans with rooms (3102, 3103, 3104, 3108 & 3109); The dimensions are provided to show that a 24" x 36" tile must be used as shown and PFT‐4 must be used in the shower enclosures.
18. In Bathroom areas, is there to be Ceramic Wall Tile or Wall Base behind or to the sides of Lockers?
A: The tile should run on the sides of the lockers (wing walls); but only a wall base behind the lockers, so that the lockers can be attached to the wall when installed.
19. Are we to figure waterproofing for ceramic floors and walls in areas other than just showers?
A: No. Only showers require water‐proof membrane substrates.
20. What product do we use at “TS‐1 Transition Strip” shown at Walk‐Off Carpet areas on
Drawing I‐120?
A: Transition details are shown on sheet I‐401 (D1).
21. Which showers are ADA showers?
A: The wider showers in each restroom are the ABA roll‐in showers. The others will have shower curbs.
22. Just to verify intent: Floors in rooms 4107, 4108, 4109, 4110, 4110A, 4110B, 4111, 4111A, & 4111B are to receive PT‐1 (24”x36”), PT‐2 (24”x24”), & PT‐3 (12”x24”). Is this the case?
A: On sheet I‐120 an enlarged finish floor plan is provided to show the tile pattern;
There will be a combination of PFT3 ‐ 24" x 36" and 24" X 12"; PFT2 ‐ 24" x 24"; PFT4 will be used in the showers; PFT1 is not used in these rooms.
23. Wall types are not given at the Kitchen, women’s toilet and locker rooms and men’s toilet and locker room. Can you please provide wall types for these areas?
A: Kitchen partition walls shall be Wall Type W‐3, all perimeter toilet room walls shall be W‐1, all toilet room interior walls shall be W‐3, and all toilet chase walls shall be W‐5.
24. Mechanical schedules state that VFD's are to be furnished with equipment. Drawing EP112 Note #9 states EC's are to provide enclosure for VFD. Please clarify, The VFD type and size would need to be provided if the EC's are to provide enclosure for VFD.
A: Mechanical schedules do not state that VFD's are to be furnished with equipment.
Schedules for AHU and Hydronic Pumps indicate "FIELD SUPPLIED VFD PER DIVISION 26 SPECIFICATIONS" which means that VFD's are furnished and installed by electrical contractor. Schedule for MAU indicates " FACTORY VFD FOR SUPPLY FAN, FACTORY DISCONNECT SWITCH" which means that ONLY MAU may be supplied with VFD. If mechanical contractor provides an MAU with a mounted VFD, then no enclosure is required; if mechanical contractor provides a loose VFD then electrical contractor must provide an enclosure suitable for the drive supplied by the mechanical contractor. Electrical contractor must coordinate size and type of drive with the equipment furnished by mechanical contractor per approved equipment submittals.
25. E‐501 ‐ D4 ‐ Floorbox detail states that three 1 1/4" conduits for data/AV, the Data/Comm drawings call for three 2" conduits. Which is correct?
A: Provide three 2" conduits for the data/AV as specified on the communications drawings for these floor boxes.
26. EP112 ‐ Note #7 ‐ Bid option #2 Bridge Crane ‐ shows 100A disconnect, panel schedule shows 20A/3Ph circuit. Please clarify.
A: The 20A, 3‐phase circuit shown on the panel schedule is accurate. The disconnect switch does not need to be a 100A rated disconnect switch. A 30A rated disconnect switch is acceptable instead.
27. EP112 shows MAG‐1 with no circuit but 100A disconnect. Please clarify what panelboard is to feed MAG‐1 A: Refer to the connection schedule on drawing E‐630 and the one‐line diagram on E‐601. These two drawings show that MAG‐1 is fed via 3121‐MPD‐1.
28. EL111 ‐ Room 3107 ‐ the exterior door has the circuit indicator but no fixture. Please clarify A: This door is suppose to have a fixture. EL111 has two exterior luminaires shown in the wrong location on the plan north side of the building. The two luminaires in the wrong locations are shown with emergency drivers (black dot in the middle of the fixture). These two fixtures are located at approximate gridlines 4.5 and 6.5. These two luminaires must be installed at the two doors on the plan north side of the building at the two doors without any lights shown but are showing a circuit 6 callout.
29. EL111 ‐ Vest 3106 ‐ the exterior door has the circuit indicator but no fixture.
30. EL120 ‐ kitchen 4105 ‐ Fixture type "D" is a can light shown in the kitchen. Plan west shows the undercabinet light noted as "D". In the schedule the undercabinet light is supposed to be type "H",in the breakroom 4106 those fixtures are noted type "H" ‐ What are these fixtures supposed to be? Please clarify.
A: The D type fixture is a can light. The undercabinet luminaires are mislabled as D type luminaires and must be provided as Type H undercabinet luminaires. The Type H luminaires shown in the ceiling systems is a typo.
31. Section 08 33 23 Overhead Coiling Doors ‐ The locking specification listed below is a maintenance issue. Doors will be locked via the motor operator. Intrusion from the outside would be extremely difficult. We highly recommend that the slide locks and interlocks are eliminated. Please advise
2.2.1.6 Locking Devices
Ensure that the slide bolt engages through slots in tracks for locking by padlock, located on both left and right jamb sides, operable from coil side.
Provide a chain lock keeper suitable for a standard padlock.
2.2.1.7 Safety Interlock
Equip power‐operated doors with a safety interlock switch to disengage power supply when the door is locked, or provide an operator with an internal lock sensing device to prevent the door opening when the door is locked.
A: Agreed. In specification 08 33 23 Overhead Coiling Doors, delete parts 2.2.1.6 and
2.2.1.7 entirely.
32. Guides, are specified as the same material as the door but then in the second paragraph aluminum and stainless are required. What are we to provide steel ( as the door curtain), aluminum or stainless?
2.2.2.1 Guides
Fabricate curtain jamb guides from the manufacturer's standard angles or channels of same material and finish as curtain slats unless otherwise indicated. Provide guides with sufficient depth or incorporate a steel locking bar to retain the curtain in place under the wind pressure specified. Ensure curtain operates smoothly. Slot bolt holes for track adjustment. Securely attach guides to adjoining construction with not less than 3/8 inch diameter bolts, spaced near each end and not over 30 inches apart.
Fabricate with stainless steel or aluminum angles. Provide windlock bars of same material when windlocks are required to meet specified wind load.
Flare the top of inner and outer guide angles outwards to form bellmouth for smooth entry of curtain into guides. Provide removable guide stoppers to prevent over travel of curtain and bottom bar.
A: In specification 08 33 23 Overhead Coiling Doors, Part 2.2.2.1, keep the first paragraph, and delete the first sentence of the second paragraph.
33. The specification for the hood is inconsistent with the rest of the door construction. 18 ga aluminum or stainless. The Door curtain is steel. Are we to provide a steel ( as the door curtain), aluminum or stainless hood?
2.2.2.2 Hood
Provide a hood with a minimum aluminum 18‐gauge B&S or stainless steel, flanged at top for attachment to header and flanged at bottom to provide longitudinal stiffness. The hood encloses the curtain coil and counterbalance mechanism.
A: In specification 08 33 23 Overhead Coiling Doors, Part 2.2.2.2, delete the first sentence of the first paragraph and insert the following language: 'Provide a hood fabricated of the same material and finish as the curtain slats, flanged at the top for attachment to header and flanged at the bottom to provide longitudinal stiffness.'
34. Motor starters as specified below, indicate what is termed as a combination starter. This means the control panel for the motor operator is place in a location other than at eh door operator. Most common placement is at eye level. This option is very expensive and not used very often. Is the combo panel required or can simply provide a control panel connected directly to the motor operator as current doors at TANG currently have?
A: Combination motor starters must be provided as shown on the Contract Documents.
35. Second question is the NEMA type 6 enclosure. This is dustproof and water resistant. Is this option required? Standard is NEMA 1, and would be less expensive and would seem to be suffieint for this application.
A: Jacobs cannot find any reference to NEMA 6 enclosures in the Contract Documents. No reference is provided in the comment pointing to where this was found. NEMA 1 enclosures are acceptable for interior applications unless the Contract Documents specifically state that an enclosure must meet other NEMA requirements.
36. It appears the un‐fused disconnect is being supplied by the electrical scope. If we are to provide the disconnect please advise. I will have a couple of questionS if we are to provide.
The decision on the combination starter will also affect our questions.
2.2.5.4 Motor Starters, Controls, and Enclosures
Provide each door motor with: a factory‐wired, unfused, disconnect switch;
a reversing, across‐the‐line magnetic starter with thermal overload protection; 24‐volt operating coils with a control transformer limit switch; and a safety interlock assembled in a NEMA ICS 6 type enclosure as specified herein. Ensure control equipment conforms to NEMA ICS 1 and
NEMA ICS 2.
Provide adjustable switches, electrically interlocked with the motor controls and set to stop the door automatically at the fully open and fully closed position
A: Un‐fused disconnect switches must be provided as shown in the Contract Documents. It is unclear what the other questions are that are mentioned in this comment/question.
37. The finish specified is a standard finish and have 4 colors available. White, Tan, Brown or
Grey. Are these colors acceptable? If not powdercoat finish is required and would have 197colors available. For the powdercoat finish an addenda would be required to change this portion of the specification. Some door installations at TANG are powdercoat finish.
2.2.6.1 Galvanized and Shop‐Primed Finish
Surfaces specified must have a zinc coating, a phosphate treatment, and a shop prime coat of rust‐inhibitive paint. The galvanized coating must conform to ASTM A653/A653M, coating designation Z275 (G90), for steel sheets, and ASTM A123/A123M for iron and steel products. The weight of coatings for products must be as designated in Table I of ASTM A123/A123M for the thickness of base metal to be coated. The prime coat must be a type especially developed for materials treated by phosphates and adapted to application by dipping or spraying. Repair damaged zinc‐coated surfaces by the materials and methods conforming to ASTM A780/A780M and spot prime. At the option of the Contractor, a two‐part system including bonderizing, baked‐on epoxy primer, and baked‐on enamel top coat may be applied to slats and hoods before forming, in lieu of prime coat specified.
2.2.6.2 Baked‐Enamel Finish
Manufacturer's standard baked‐on finish consisting of prime coat and thermosetting topcoat. Comply with the coating manufacturer's written instructions for cleaning, pretreatment, application, and minimum dry film thickness.
A: Specification 08 33 23 will be revised and resent. The finish for all overhead doors shall be powder coating on both faces of the door slats, along with the hood and guide rails.
38. We will be proposing our installation without scope of control wiring. We will not be able to supply wiring at TANG as we not licensed electricians. Do you want us to supply an add for this scope by contacting your electrician for a quote to do this work? This scope is specified in our section as detailed below. I am unsure if the electrical specification also has this in their scope.
3.1 INSTALLATION: Install overhead coiling doors, switches, and controls along accessible routes in compliance with regulatory requirements for accessibility and as required by the manufacturer.
A: The referenced section is Section 08 33 23.
39. Reference drawing sheets P116 and P117. There is a set of 7/8” Oil and Hydraulic high pressure lines shown from the oil storage tanks to exterior wall mounted hose reels on the East side of the AGE Shop Room 3123. There are also some hose reels shown on the West side of the Shop, but it is unclear how the piping is to be routed to these reels. Please indicated how the piping is to be routed to all of the hose reels.
A: Please refer to P‐402 for isometric showing requested information.
40. Reference drawing sheet P501, note # 14. This note indicates pressure tubing from pumps to reels for motor oil and hydraulic oil to be 7/8” tubing with ferrule fittings. We have been unable to find this specific piping the specifications. Additionally, we cannot find a detail for the air compressor, dryer, and filter on the drawings. Please provide these items.
A: Use pipe material per Piping Schedule shown on P‐602 for CA ‐ COMPRESSED AIR.
Furnish air Compressor, dryer and filter per equipment schedule.
Install air Compressor, dryer and filter per manufacturer's recommendation.
41. FA110 ‐ Vestibule 3101 ‐ Symbol "K" does not show up on the legend, please clarify.
A: The symbol "K" showing up on FA110 outside of vestibule 3101 is a rapid entry key box used for first responders to enter the building quickly without having to use force of entry.
42. AV1 & AV2 boxes ‐ What is the conduit size for the AV box rough‐ins?
A: 1 1/2" for AV wall outlets, 2" for Floor box locations
43. T‐504‐D1 ‐ Is there a specific AV box type required?
A: No specific AV insert required. Size to accommodate faceplates.
44. Is the EC required to carry the AV install in their pricing or just carry the rough‐in? If required, please provide the AV specifications.
A: AV install to include cabling as shown in detail B1 on sheet T‐504
45. Bid Option #6 ‐ Security ‐ States to provide all security camera systems, card readers, etc.
and to provide a complete and useable security system. The drawings have a couple of card readers and keypads but does not show any cameras. Is there additional security drawings?
A: There are no additional security drawings. There are no security cameras. Only card access entering secure areas.
46. Bid Option #6 ‐ Security ‐ Lists Advantor. Is there a contact available for Advantor?
A: Email: govsales@advantor.com for information.
47. For all low voltage rough‐ins ‐ Security, Data/Comm, AV ‐ Does the EC need to provide conduit to the cable tray or is J‐Hooks from the Stub up to the tray acceptable?
A: 1" EMT for locations over 50' from tray, J‐hooks will be utilized within 50' of an outlet from tray.
48. Is there a specific manufacture and or installation for the static discharge plates?
A: There is no specific manufacturer required for the static discharge plates. The static discharge plates on drawing EG101 have detail callouts for B5/E‐502 which is a standard detail for a ground bar. Provide this and mount as detailed in keynote 4.
49. Sheet I116 general notes for the Support Shop clarify that FFE is for reference only and provided by others. Sheet I126 does not include the same note, but I assume this is also for reference only. Please clarify the intent.
A: Yes, all furniture is shown for reference only.
50. D1 & D5/A510 call for 2" rigid insulation at the foundation perimeter, D3/A510 calls for 4" rigid insulation. Specs call for R10 underslab/perimeter insulation. Please clarify the intent.
A: Revise all foundation notes on sheets A‐311, A‐312, A‐313 & A‐314 calling for R‐ 20, min. rigid insulation at foundation to read: R‐10, min. extruded polystyrene (XPS) rigid perimeter insulation. Under‐slab insulation is not required. Revise all perimeter insulation notes on sheet A‐510 to read: R‐10, min. extruded polystyrene (XPS) rigid perimeter insulation.
51. In reviewing this project for TANG KC‐135 Support Shops, we have found the temp panel shown on ES102 is listed as 100A 120/240V single‐phase however the existing and new circuits are 150A 208V 3‐phase. Does this new temp panel need to be upsized and changed to 3‐phase power?
A: Drawing ES102 shows the temporary munitions site. These munitions buildings are existing and are all currently fed via the transformer shown on that drawing (XFMRD). Per keynote 5, that existing transformer is rated 240/120V, 1‐phase, 25kVA. At 25kVA, the maximum load that transformer can supply is 105 amps. The only additional load being added to that transformer are the three pole‐mounted LED lights. The 100A, 1‐phase panelboard is acceptable for the temporary munitions site. The new munitions site shown on drawing ES401 does have a larger, three‐ phase panelboard.
52. In reference to aluminum storefront windows, see drawing sheets A‐610, S‐001, and specification section 08 41 113 (Aluminum Framed Entrances and Storefront). It is unclear what Anti‐terrorism/Force Protection requirement apply to the storefront framing. A‐610 has a note on most exterior storefront window elevations stating:
“EXTERIOR ALUM W/1” INSUL GLAZING (AT/FP)” Specification 0841113 references ASTM F1642/1642M (Test Method for Glazing and Glazing Systems subject to airblast) in multiple locations. Drawing sheet S‐001 lists UFC 4‐010‐01 (DoD Minimum Anti‐Terrorism Standards for Buildings) as a design requirements, but does not provide any guidance on charge loads or standoff distances required for analysis per UFC‐4‐010‐01. Specification 0841113 Paragraph 2.1.1 (Design requirements) list requirements for Dead and Live loads, Seismic loads, Wind loads, Thermal loads, and water and air resistance, but does not specify any airblast loads. Please provide clarification as to what degree the aluminum storefront windows are subject to UFC 4‐010‐01 and ASTM F1642/1642M including charge load and standoff distances if applicable.
A: The window systems only fall under the minimum ATFP standards for glazing.
Refer to part 3‐11.1 for glazing requirements in UFC 4‐010‐01. There are no charge weights to be identified. The inner panes of the the insulated glazing panels simply need to be laminated glass or polycarbonate per the UFC.
53. Benches are shown in the Admin building at showers and locker rooms. There is none shown in the shop building. Will benches be required in the shop building showers and locker rooms? Is so please provide a floor plan showing the benches.
A: Yes, benches are required in most locker rooms and in the shower areas. The floor plan will be revised to show locations and the bench material will be identified.
54. Is there an environment report for the asbestos and lead remediation as specified in spec sections 028200 and 028300?
A: See appendix of design documents for asbestos test maps. Building 126 was constructed in 1951 and is assumed to contain lead base paint.
55. The soils report recommends Soil Cement Modification and Structural note 20.2/S001 states that the foundation parameters are dependent on Soil Cement Modification". Is this work to be included in bid pricing or priced as needed during construction? If required for bid pricing, please provide a specification and define the scope of work.
A: Soil Cement Modification recommendations are presented in Section 4.3 of the Geotechnical Report (Appendix to the Specifications). It is intended to be included in the base bid.
56. Option # 2 is for the bridge crane and support framing from column line “D” to “F”. Option # 4 is calling for the support frame from column line “A” to “F”. The support frame is included in Option # 1 from “D” to “F”. Shouldn’t Option # 4 be only for the support frame from column line “A” to “D”?
A: See G‐002 for a full description of the bid options.
57. What is the material for the locker room benches?
A: Painted steel frame with a metal or wood bench surface as preferred by the Govt.
Wood should be number 1 or Select grade solid maple with two clear coats of polyurethane.
58. Are all Showers to receive one 12” x 28” Schluter Niche with one Stainless Steel shelve?
A: Yes, all showers should include a 12" wide x 28" tall x 3 1/2" deep Schluter niche with a stainless steel shelf mid‐way in the niche installed in the back wall opposite the entrance to the shower. The bottom of the niche should be located 40" above the shower floor.
59. Ref drawing C3a/A402‐ Whats the material for the 1” shelves? What is supporting them?
A: Refer to specification 06 20 00, part 2.1.6. for plywood type. Stain and poly finish.
Provide shelfs with a sleeve‐type bracket and set screws for the appearance of a cantilevered shelf without shelf brackets.
60. A301 Support shop, CMU along column line 4 ends at 12' AFF and there is no wall or partition above it from 12' AFF to the roof. Correct?
A: No, that is incorrect. Refer to wall type W‐8 as noted on the Shop Building Annotation Plan, Sheet A‐111. Above the 12' high CMU are 8" girts between PEMB columns along gridline 4 that run to the roof ridge along with the columns. These girts will have metal panels attached to them from 12' AFF to the bottom of the roof on the open shop side.
61. S111 General Note 02 requires a delegated design, stand alone cold formed framing system independent of the PEMB. Details B3/S11 shows a joist bearing detail at the exterior wall where a ceiling joist attaches to a stud at the exterior wall. However, detail D1/A311 shows metal studs supporting exterior wall panels and attaching to the PEMB. I don't see a way to provide a way to comply with the structural note without adding another stud wall inside column line 1 (and changing the layout) at detail D1/A311. Please clarify the intent.
A: Provide independently supported 10" cold formed metal stud framing at 24" OC as shown in attached document in lieu of double stud configuration that was anchored to PEMB frame. This 10" metal stud framing will integrate and support 8" metal joist system described in the structural drawings, and will be completely independent of the PEMB frame.
62. There is a specification for 05 72 00 Decorative Metal Specialties. I have not found anywork that product this specification refers to. What is this for?
A: Disregard specification 05 72 00 Decorative Metal Specialties.
63. Specification 07 05 23 Pressure Testing an Air Barrier System for Air Tightness, calls for 3rd party testing and commissioning of the air barrier system. This would be expensive due temporary sealing of all penetrations, change in work sequence, testing and commissioning.
This requirement was removed on other projects. Can this be removed from the project?
A: Air barrier system continuous inspections and final testing and commissioning is required for both the Shop Building and the Administrative Building since both buildings are new construction and over 10,000 SF each. The only exceptions to the final testing and commissioning would be the large open shop portion of the Shop Building and the small Munitions Buildings.
64. CS101 and CS102 only show sod in cetain areas, however, Specification 32 92 23 Sodding, part 3.1.1 calls for sod in all disturbed areas. Please confirm that the intent of the documents is to provide sod in ALL disturbed areas.
A: All disturbed areas are to receive sod. Refer to Sheet CG101 Note 5.
“Once all earth disturbing activities have been completed, all disturbed areas shall be stabilized as soon as practical in accordance with the specifications. NOTE:
Sodded area illustrated may not include all disturbed areas.”
65. CS102, Bldg 126 Project Area. From the shading, it appears that we are providing new light duty pavement per A3/CS501. However, section B4/CS502 is called out mid way down the road and shows a transition from new to existing pavement. This conflicts with the shading for all new pavement. Please clarify the intent.
A: The existing access road from Briscoe Drive to the existing perimeter fence will be demolished to the base stone, proof rolled and re‐paved.
Refer to A3/CS501.
Disregard the reference to detail B4/CS502.
66. T‐122 ‐ room 4131 ‐ There is a reference to keynote #8. There isn't a note #8 listed, please clarify.
A: Keynote references reserved space for Access Control Panel
67. With the amount of questions, can the bid date be extended to allow time for the addendums?
A: The bid has been extended.
68. Sheets ES101, ES102, ES103, & ES401 show scale to be 1” = 20’ 0”. However, on sheet ES101, at that given scale a parking space only comes out to 5’ in width. This will cause all the site electrical raceway/conductor lengths to be drastically short.
A: On ES101, the scale was incorrect. It is 1”=50’
69. Sheets ES102 & ES103 show scale to be 1” = 20’ 0”. Both drawings show the relocated utility transformer pad sitting on a 10’ footprint when detail D5 on sheet E‐503 calls for the transformer pad to be 8’x8’. This also will cause the raceways/conductors to be the incorrect lengths. Please clarify what scale the site electrical drawings should be.
A: ES102 and ES103 are scaled correctly at 1”=20’. The transformer pad is 8’x8’ per detail D5 on sheet E‐503.

72. Can you ask if they have panel schedule for the Temp Munitions area panel, it is indicated to be 100A, but there is not a feeder schedule indicating the feed for it and no panel schedule indicating the breaker sizes required in the panel?
A: There is not a panel schedule for that temporary panelboard. The contractor will need to provide circuit breakers that match the existing feeders supplying those loads. The circuit breaker for the new site lighting will be a 20A, 1‐pole breaker.
73. Also some questions from the FA subs:
1. As spec indicates, Is a Simplex‐Johnson Controls fire panel and equipment acceptable?
A: Bid project as specified.
2. Does the new FACP’s need to reside on the True Site (Simplex‐Johnson Controls System) via fiber or reside on the Monaco Wireless System?
A: Bid project as specified.
3. The drawings show (1) LOC per building, is that all that will be required?
A: Bid project as specified.
74. I did not see any panel schedules for the MDP panels in the building or the new
Munitions area either, can you ask if those can be provided?
A: There are no panel schedules for 3121‐MDP‐1, 4141‐MDP‐1 or MUNITIONS‐PNL.
The equipment ratings and breaker sizes for these panels are all shown on one‐line drawings E‐601 and E‐602.
75. Drawing T‐501, illustration D2 calls for 2 x “CAT6 OM1 SC DUPLEX COUPLER” at SIPRNET 4‐ port faceplate.” But legend on drawing T‐001 calls for (2) RED CAT6 for SIPRNET outlet.
Which one is correct?
A: Detail on T‐501 is correct, CAT6 OM1 SC Duplex Coupler.
76. Is plenum cable required?
A: Plenum rated category 6 cables will be utilized for copper connections.
77. Drawing A‐401 detail D‐1 Enlarged Floor Plan has conflicting information on the metal lockers. For an example detail A‐5 shows single tier lockers but those lockers has a tag # 28 that states they are to be double tier lockers. This is only an example; this occurs several times. Please confirm which lockers are double tier and which lockers are single tier.
A: Disregard all keynotes referring to single tier lockers. All lockers shall be 24" x 24" double tiered with integral sloped tops.
78. The interior signage spec is call for additional frames, message strips and paper inserts. The signs as shown are all different sizes. Are we to provide the specified extras in all sizes? Also there is Building Directories specified but none shown in the sign schedule. Are building directories required?
A: The signage spec requires you to provide extras for each size of sign required for the project; Yes, a directory is required and must be coordinated with the client prior to ordering
79. Where does specification 08 34 73 Sound Control Door Assemblies apply? I have not found the locations.
A: Refer to the door schedule on sheet A‐601. All doors noted with a #3 under the Notes column for doors with a minimum STC rating of 45 should follow specification 08 33 73.
80. In regards to the Kalwall Translucent panels:
a. Does the translucent panels have to meet AFTP, if so is it supposed to be designed to explosive weight 1 or 2 & what is the standoff distance?
A: Translucent panels do not have to be blast resistant for AT/FP per UFC 4‐010‐01.
b. The spec calls out the finish to meet AAMA 2605, the previous building we have done at TANG have been AAMA 2604 finish is this acceptable to match?
A: Translucent panels do not have to be blast resistant for AT/FP per UFC 4‐010‐01.
