About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a fall protection system for Vehicle Maintenance Bays, specifying two rail-based fall arrest systems designed for two concurrent users. The systems will be approximately 42 and 65 feet long, constructed of ASTM steel and painted safety yellow, with each rail featuring two trolleys, lanyards, and supporting components. Key technical requirements include:

The fall protection system must meet multiple ANSI/ASSP safety standards, with components including all-steel trolleys, self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) with maximum load of 310 pounds, full body harnesses, and accessories. A professional engineer must design the system, which requires a safety factor of two, maximum arresting force of 900 pounds per worker, and compatibility with existing structural supports. The contractor must provide comprehensive documentation, including sealed engineering analyses, product data, samples, certificates, and operation/maintenance manuals. Additional requirements include manufacturer qualifications, warranty, installation procedures, field quality control testing, and operator training.
