Renovate Bldg 307 for Squadron Operations W50S8V-22-B-0001

QUESTION SHEET “C”

25 April 2022

Questions:

1. Controls: On page M-701 in the general notes it stipulates that the controls vendor has responsibility for power wiring and low-voltage wiring and conduits for the controls system.

Please confirm that the electrician shall not run conduit or any electrical wiring for items connected to or for the controls system.

a. RESPONSE: Bid as shown. This note places the responsibility with the controls contractor (with the full involvement of the general contractor) to provide all the information needed (location, power requirements) to the electrical contractor in order for them to provide power wiring for the controls system. Thus for the controls power connections work, the project electrical contractor would basically be a sub to the control contractor. All low voltage controls wiring and conduit would be provided by the controls contractor.

2. Millwork: The 2 Plam colors from Pionite are discontinued. Please identify an acceptable alternate PL-1/PL-2

a. RESPONSE: The bid pricing for both PL-1 and PL-2 shall be based on the Basis of Design product called out in the finish Schedule on A-607: Pionite, Abstracts, Suede. The specific color shall be selected after award, from the current active (in production) color options.

3. Overhead Doors: Specs call for 4-hour battery backup. This is not available by many brands like Liftmaster or Overhead door. Please confirm the requirement of a 4-hour battery backup.

a. RESPONSE: Eliminate the battery backup.

4. Overhead Doors: Specs call for explosion-proof motors and controllers. Is there additional information for this specification?

a. RESPONSE: Eliminate the requirement for explosion-proof motors and controls in the

OH door spec

5. Overhead Doors: Specs also call for controllers to be NEMA-13 and NEMA-9, and later NEMA-4 with keyed lock-out. (NEMA-1 is standard with the operator, interior mounted. Others as an option.) Which one(s) is needed?

a. RESPONSE: NEMA - 1

6. Overhead Doors: Specs call for pneumatic (non-monitored) and electric wireless (monitored) sensing edges. Which one? (Monitored safety system is required if the momentary-contact-to-close operation or remote transmitter is required.)

a. RESPONSE: Provide the electric wireless sensing edges.

a. RESPONSE: The countertops for all new Cabinets and Counters on this project shall be ½" Solid surfacing (SS-1 - Finish Schedule) with a 1 ½" SS-1 edge.

9. Millwork: SS1 Corian Canvas is called to be installed on the restrooms countertops with sinks and all service countertops, but on the millwork details drawings it does not call for the restrooms and there is no details. Please advise if the SS1 is for the restrooms also even if there is no detail.

a. RESPONSE: This project does not include any Architectural/Interiors work in the building’s toilet rooms. Disregard any references to finishes in bathrooms.

10. Millwork: On page A301/ detail 4 and 5 calls for service counter, where exactly are the service counters located on the plans, and in which areas?

11. Overhead Doors: Door spec asks for 10 cycles per day rating. Need to know how many cycles the door’s torsion will be rated for overall: 20,000, 50,000, 75,000 or 100,000? Also, the warranty spec says “Torsion for 2 years”. Torsion springs are warranted for # of cycles, not the time period.

a. RESPONSE: Warranty Torsion Springs for 50,000 cycles.

12. Overhead Doors: Door 117 Spec calls for dual pad-lockable slide locks. Is that spec for 117B and

117C? Or for just one of them?

15. Is this project Tax Exempt?

a. RESPONSE: Contractor is responsible for all Federal, State, and Local Taxes in accordance with FAR 52.229-3.
