1. I am inquiring about this solicitation. I am putting together a quote, and would like to know how many phones (devices) are including in this system. In order to get as accurate of an estimate as possible.
ANSWER: We are requesting a conversation/upgrade from our current PRI to a new SIP circuit. In the PWS in section 5.2 Direct-Inward-Dialing (DID) Directory Numbers are listed as 1000. We don’t need the end user desk phone devices; we are looking for the service to support the desktop phones.
2. A – What is the total number of local minutes used on average over a four-month period?
B – What is the total number of long-distance minutes used on average over a four-month period?
C – What is the total number of international minutes used on average over a four-month period?
ANSWER: We are requesting an upgrade or transition of our current TDM circuit (old technology) to the SIP circuit. These plans are not sold by minutes, it is the service we are requesting.
3. Please confirm the required number of SIP trunk ports/channels is 92.
ANSWER: SIP is measured in bandwidth. We currently have 1 local PRI and 1 long distance PRI. Each PRI consists of 24 channels. There are 23 channels that are considered B-channels. These are channels for phone calls and there is 1 D-channel which is a controller and data carrier channel. The 23 voice channels can be considered concurrent calls (CC). The reasonable requirement calls for 46 to 48 CC depending on whether the SIP provider includes the D-Channel as part of their service. Which matches the current service we have and converting our current TDM PRI to a SIP offering.
4. Please confirm the total number of DIDs is 1,000.
ANSWER: Yes, we have 1,000 DIDs
5. A – What is the estimated number of DIDs that will require 911 provisioning on average?
B – What is the total number of endpoints provisioned on the system that require 911 provisioning?
ANSWER: Every extension on our system needs to have 911 access.
