About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Bldg. 190 Overhead Door Replacement project, solicitation number W50S8525QA006. The RFI addresses four key questions from potential bidders regarding door painting requirements. Specifically, the answers clarify that the contractor is responsible for painting the doors, which can be done prior to installation, and should match the existing color as closely as possible. The unofficial exterior door color is referred to as "Creech Brown," and bidders are advised that military buildings typically use a flat finish.
The associated federal contract opportunity involves a complete removal and replacement of an overhead door at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan. The project requires a rolling steel, insulated, flat slat door with vision lights and wind locks, including a galvanized door cowl/hood and a 115V right-side drive operator. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, 3 April 2025 at 2pm EST, with base access request forms required at least 3 days prior. Funds are anticipated to become available by 30 September 2025, and the project is being managed by the Department of the Army Michigan Army National Guard.
