Solicitation# W50S85-24-Q-A012

Selfridge ANGB, Open House (Airshow T.V.)

Questions & Answers

Equipment Provision:

Question 1: Size of required screens? Or are they looking for recommendations based on their layout?

Answer 1:

The two primary displays should be a minimum of 23’ x 13’ LED. The third display in the Static/STEAM area should be a minimum of 17’ x 10’ LED.

Question 1(a). If so, could we have dimensions of the civilian areas?

Answer 1(a): Please see attached map for front line linear footage for the 3 zones.

Question 2. Type of screens

Answer 2: LED

Question 3. “One display remotely connected to the aircraft ramp for Static Display aircraft”

Answer 3:

The two primary displays will be for the main crowd line area, and the third display is for the Aircraft Static Display/STEAM area. This display will require a wireless connection to the video production area.

Question 3(a) So, one camera and monitor dedicated to Static Display? Or do you wish to integrate shots of static display into broadcast?

Answer 3 (a):

No, no camera needs to be dedicated to static display area.

Question 4: Will monitor locations be supplied with internet connections (NDI)

Answer 4:

No. Internet is only provided at the production area at show center - located with Air Boss / Announcer / Sound trailer.

Question 4(a): Will we need to provide our own P2P system? If so, we would need to create a timeline for our IT people to discuss with the base’s IT people.

Answer 4 (a):

Yes. You would need to coordinate with the Selfridge Installation Spectrum Manager to insure your frequencies will not interfere with ours.

Question 5: “Configure and provide necessary props and lighting for at least two broadcast hosts...”

Question 5(b): Are you looking for a live preshow presentation or will this be pre-recorded?

Answer 5(b):

We expect a live show before and during the Air Show.

Question 5(c): Will this host be present for the entire broadcast? (Announcer versus host) Will this host need a desk set-up or would it be more like a sideline reporter?

Answer: The host will be interacting with the crowd and STEM displays. We will have an announcer, separately that is announcing the flying performers. The host is there to tie in the rest of the ground show and to draw attention to our ground show when there are breaks in the performance.

We need a desk set up and live for the entire time.

Company Performance Requirements:

Question 6: Although our company has performed far more than five airshows, we have only ever produced one airshow at a military installation. Does this immediately disqualify us?

Answer 6:

Yes. We need experience with military open house & air shows.

Emergency Messaging and Crowd Engagement:

Question 7: Would messages be graphics/video that Government will provide, or will we be expected to produce our own messaging? Will these messages need to be separate from the broadcast itself?

Answer 7:

We expect you to produce your own messaging, but our Public Affairs Office will be able to provide some resources and finished video clips/spots.

These messages will need to have the ability to be separate from the main broadcast streams. Example: a “lost child” type of message would need to only go to the large local displays, and NOT over the internet streams.

Enhanced Attendee Experience:

Question 8: Host expected to walk into crowd and interact with attendees? Or are you looking for a roaming camera shot? If Host is expected to walk into crowd, would special provisions for camera frequencies be provided.

Answer 8:

Yes, we expect the host(s) and camera to have the ability to walk about and interact with the crowd. No, you must work within licensed and approved frequencies obtained by the user.

In-Cockpit Experience:

Question 9: Is this a deal breaker? Willingness to compromise?

Answer 9:

Yes, it is a deal breaker, and not willing to compromise.
