· 5. All luminaires shall be provided with a six foot cord and cap per NEC requirements

· 6. Some luminaires shall be provided with plug for the locations where existing receptacles are present.

· 20. The bell housing reflector shall be manufactured domestically, with domestic raw materials of higher “lighting grade” quality and reflectivity or will be rejected.

· 21. Fixture shall incorporate a high efficiency parabolic insert, designed to maximize illumination while concurrently reducing glare.

· Parabolic inserts are used to distribute light, the distribution of LED light doesn’t require parabolic lens it is just an added expense.

· Light fixtures – Prefer fixtures that utilize tubes/bulbs or panel fixtures that have integrated LED strips?

· Panel Prefered

· Panel fixtures are typically less expensive but Tubed Fixtures extend the life of the fixture which is typically over 20 years

· Panel fixtures can be provided as flat panel and recessed. Which is preferred/spec’d?

1. Schedule – SOW states “existing utilities are to remain in service during installation”. Is the expectation that fixtures will be changed while full power is running? OSHA does not permit this over 208V

2. The existing utilities to remain in service exclude the utility under construction.

1. Will electrical system modifications be done and approved prior to installation

3. None Planned

1. Will installation outside of normal 0745 – 1630 hours be required? How will installation times be coordinated by the Government?

4. Installation outside normal working ours is not required although may be approved if requested.

1. Who will authorize furniture and equipment movement modalities?

5. All Coordination for work related to the construction and Furniture movements will be authorized by the Contracting Officer Representative.

1. Where will Contractor fixtures and supplies be stored during the project?

6. Contractor will be authorized an installation storage/laydown location and a storage location in each facility.

1. Where will Toilet facilities be placed? (Bid specifies that contractors may not use base facilities.

7. As work is interior, Contractor will be authorized use of facilities within the scope of work. – Porta let not necessary

1. How many installations require photometrics and approval of photometrics? Is the photometric approval the same as the performance verification test? Will they be performed at the same time?

8. Photometrics will be submitted by the contractor as verification for submitted fixtures

1. How will Government deal with lighting installation issues that require physical modification of the facility? Our experience with government facilities is that they are fairly old and many modifications were made that no longer allow for lighting installation as it appears on drawings. For example, removal of fixture results in a cavity that will not allow for reinstallation of modern fixtures

9. If equipment or building surfaces are damaged, contractor shall repair to original specification. Material used for touchup and repairs shall blend with the color and texture of surrounding surface and be applied in accordance with the manufacture's recommendations.

1. Are there lighting schedules or counts listed somewhere for each building so we can quote? Or do we need to blow up the CAD drawings and count by that? Also, does each building have its own lighting schedule or is there just one master?

A. The contract will be bid by building. Below are the estimated numbers of light fixtures per building. Actual number of light fixture in each building should be verified by the contractor.

0. Building 6900: 370 Lights

0. Building 6901: 130 Lights

0. Building 6903: 17 Lights
