FOOD SERVICE IDIQ RFI
Are these services are currently being performed by a contractor? If so, could you please provide the incumbent name as well as the contract number?
A. The previous IDIQ expired. The incumbent is Valley Foods. Contract # is W912K6-16-D-0001
BACKGROUND states "MDARNG units assemble (drill) once each month on Saturday and Sunday at their home armory; these training periods are referred to as Inactive Duty Training (IDT). Food products will need to be delivered to the Armory on Thursday or Friday as directed on the delivery order. The time of the delivery will be coordinated between the vendor and the Food Programs Manager (FPM), and delivery point of contact. Annual Training (AT) is a 15-day period of training conducted during the summer months. AT rations will be requested and drawn on a 3-2-2 cycle with a 3 cycle being Saturday, Sunday, Monday (delivery will take place on Friday), and the 2 cycles being Tuesday, Wednesday (delivery will take place on Monday) and Thursday, Friday (delivery on Wednesday)."
Does this mean that the vendor should make only 1 delivery of all meals for an IDT and the MDARNG will heat, serve, etc?
A. Yes, the goal of this Contract is to provide raw grocery items to the MDARNG unit’s that have certified cooks. The Military cooks will then prepare and cook the items for the soldiers of their unit.
Could you please tell me if this is a new requirement, or if there is a current or previous contractor who has performed similar services? If available, can you please send along the incumbent contract or task order number?
