About this file

This file is a Request for Information (RFI) containing responses to 20 vendor questions regarding the B44 Breakroom Remodel solicitation (W50S7X-26-Q-0008) at McConnell Air Force Base. The RFI provides clarification on equipment specifications, project scope, scheduling, and site requirements for this combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items.

Key specifications confirmed include: single-stage water filtration for the countertop water/ice dispenser; microwaves with minimum 1200W power and 2.2 cubic feet internal capacity to fit existing cabinet slots; no upright refrigerators required; and no specific manufacturer or model requirements, with items to meet stated dimensions. The government confirmed that additional electrical work will be needed for microwave cabinet installations and may be needed for an undercounter refrigerator and ice maker. The delivery timeline is negotiable and can be extended to 90 days from award if necessary, with project start targeted for September 30, 2026, at the latest. A mandatory site visit was scheduled for August 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Building 65, Suite 153, 52955 Jayhawk Drive, McConnell AFB, Kansas. Additional clarifications include: all ceiling and drywall repairs have been completed by Civil Engineering; potential mold remediation behind cabinets has been addressed; flooring and tile work may be required depending on cabinet placement; architectural and mechanical/electrical engineering will be needed; the project is tax-exempt; and contractors may utilize government restroom facilities. As-built electrical and plumbing documents are available, and all subcontractor requirements match prime contractor requirements for base access.
