Task 1: Replace a portion of the existing copper line sets on three 30 Ton Liebert Air Conditioning Units.
Each Liebert Unit has two R-22 Freon circuits, due to operational requirements of the server farm, only one circuit of one Liebert Unit can be down at a time. Freon can be recycled if acid content is acceptable, otherwise virgin Freon is to be used. Each of the 6 line sets is comprised of one 1 inch line and one 1¼ inch line and the portion to be replaced ranges from 25 feet to 45 feet long (see drawing). Replacement lines will use ACR copper piping and will be insulated with Rubatex insulation. There will be a combination isolation/shraeder valve installed at the condenser end of the new portion of the line set as well as a isolation/shraeder valve installed on the lineset just outside the indoor unit (Evaporator) approximately 4 feet above the room floor. The result will be two isolation/shraeder valves on each line.
Linesets will exit the building through the Mechanical room cinder block wall at approximately 12 feet high. Lines will be supported to the condensing units keeping at least an 8 foot clearance above the ground until they reach the condensing units.
Note: The contractor will provide additional cooling to the server farm, if required, during the performance of this work. Air conditioning must be sufficient to keep the server farm continuously at 70 degrees +/- 2 degrees.
