About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) concerns a carpet replacement project for Building 2272 at March Air Force Base, California. The solicitation (W50S74-25-R-A019) is set aside exclusively for HUBZone-certified companies and includes specific requirements such as providing carpet tile, moving furniture, and removing debris. Contractors must use a dumpster for debris removal and carefully relocate existing furniture as shown in attached photographs. An Asbestos Management Plan is included, which details asbestos testing results for multiple buildings (2271, 2272, and 2273), with most areas found to be asbestos-free or containing asbestos in good condition that does not require immediate action. The project is scheduled for 21 August 2025 and involves multiple buildings with total floor spaces ranging from 22,623 to 31,869 square feet.

Homogeneous Area #2: One sample (2271-#0lA) was taken. This sample tested positive with 5-10% chrysotile asbestos; therefore, the mastic found under the 12x12 gray spotted floor tile is considered ACM.
Homogeneous Area #3: One sample (2271-#02) was taken. This sample tested negative for asbestos; therefore, the 12x12 charcoal floor tile located in the Inflight Kitchen is considered NON-ACM.
Homogeneous Area #4: One sample (2271-#02A) was taken. This sample tested negative for asbestos. Therefore, the mastic under the 12x12 the charcoal floor tile is considered NON-ACM.
Recommended Action: The asbestos containing material was found to be in good condition and does not pose a threat. No immediate action is required. The material should be included in a recurring preventive maintenance program whereby inspections are made every six months or as needed. If the condition deteriorates, repair or removal should be performed. Removal must be considered if the areas are included in a repair or construction project. Actions taken to repair or remove the ACM should be annotated in the "Changes That Affect Sample Summary " section of the plan.
