About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) responses document for federal contract opportunity W50S6T26QA026 titled "Remove Traffic Island and Construct Sloped Concrete Static Display," current as of July 9, 2026.

The document addresses five questions from potential contractors regarding project specifications and site conditions. Key details include: the F-15 display pedestal dimensions of 25.5' x 46.5' with variable height, requiring installation of formwork to create 60-degree angled sloped concrete sides against the existing pedestal; a pedestal block plan drawing is available but detailed dimensional drawings were not provided in the RFI responses; no restrictions or protection requirements apply when working around the aircraft; asphalt pavement design for the removed island area must comply with UFC 3-250-01 (Pavement Design for Roads, Streets, Walks, and Open Storage Areas); and the West Gate traffic island work area can be closed for a couple of days during construction rather than requiring ongoing traffic control measures. This RFI response provides preliminary guidance to interested contractors on scope, site constraints, and regulatory compliance requirements for the project.
