Responses to RFI's for Range Tower (W50S6Q21B0006):

1. How tall is the tower structure?

Per range personnel, tower height is 50’ to floor of cab.

2. Are 2x2 ceiling grids an authorized substitute?

Specification Section 09 51 00 (Acoustical Ceilings) para 2.2.1.3 actually specifies acoustical tile units with a nominal size of 24 inch by 24 inch.

3. What is the cleanup requirement for the sandblasting?

The area needs to be enclosed to control the spread of the sandblasting. The Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of ALL chemicals need to be sent to the 188th Environmental Manager for review and approval prior to the starting of the project. Also, all SDS need to be at the worksite and available for review. The contractor is required to supply all collection systems, spill kit materials and waste collection drums (preferably 55 gallon drums) for all generated waste. The contractor is responsible for proper collection, storage and removal of ALL contaminated waste produced at the site, in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Ensure that the Fort Chaffee Environmental Manager is aware of all related work procedures and waste production.

4. Are lifts/cranes authorized for use at the range?

Yes. Coordination with Razorback Range through COR will be required for scheduling.

5. Can the chain link fence around the building at top of tower be replaced instead of repainted?

If the contractor would prefer replacement then they will need to provide submittals for the replacement for approval
