Repair Roof Fall Protection Multi‐Facility, Eielson Air Force Base, AK

16 August 2021

1. A Besides 1171 and 3127, there are some other roofs with a pitch greater than 3.5:12, such as on the 3225 and parts of 3129 and 32251 (small gabled roof). I feel they should also be replaced with RoofSafe Rail. Comments?

Answer: Only the buildings specified in the Statement of Work and specifications are to have the new Roofsafe Rail, or similar, installed.

2. SOW notes buildings 1171 and 1172 for RoofSafe in the first sentence, but then in the 2.0 Base

Bid section notes buildings 1171 and 3127. Which buildings are to receive RoofSafe?

Answer: Buildings 1171 and 3127

3. All the other cable systems are no longer supported by the manufacturer. I suggest replacing all the other cable systems with a pitch of less than 3.5:12 with RoofSafe Anchors and Cable

Systems. Would you accept a quote for replacement rather than repair?

Answer: Bids shall be in conformance with the Invitation for Bid and attachments.

4. As for the single point locations, they should be fine as they are, but checked for compliance.

Answer: Contractor will be required to review the compliance of the single point locations as well. This is part of the certification and is within scope of the contract. It is okay if they do not need replaced.
