The contractor must provide the booth foundation and remove all spoils from the site. Temperature control between 67-72 degrees Fahrenheit is required for make-up air, but heat recovery is not. The existing dust collector supports 11 additional blasting units ranging in size from 3x4x6 feet to 8x12x8 feet. The site visit is December 21, 2022 at 10 AM and quotes are due by December 27, 2022 at 10 AM. Question #2: Does transportation mean to also re-install?
Answer #2: Re-install is not required
Question #3: Para 16. States dust collector is located approximately 400' from room, para 7 states add heat recovery, the air exiting the blast booth must go through the dust collector before entering the heat recovery coils, so how far is the heat recovery system located from the dust collector and where does the heat recovery discharge into the facility?
Answer #3: The energy recovery requirement is rescinded; make-up air is returned to the room in which the blast booth resides
Question #4: Para 3- States the existing equipment ducts should be attached to the dust collector system, are these ducts insulated for the heat recovery or do they require replacement with insulated ducts to support the heat recovery?
Answer #4: Ducts are not insulated and are to be replaced with the size required for the system plus the stated additional capacity, heat recovery is not required as per 2 above
Question #5: Para 16- Should the 400' of duct be insulated to support the heat recovery?
Answer #5: Duct does no need to be insulated, heat recovery not required per 2 above
Question #6: Para 12- State the blast floor shall be flush with the existing building floor, are we to provide the booth foundation? Do you have a location on site to dump the spoils from the foundation excavation?
Answer #6: Per SOW, booth foundation is required, and all spoils are to be removed from the depot
Question #7: System Specifications, Para 7. States Air Make Up with Heat Recovery, please confirm the requirement.
Answer #7: Make-up air is to be temperature controlled; heat recovery not required per 2 above
Question #8: Is the AMU heat only? yes/no
Answer #8: Temperature control is required, so No, it is not heat only
Question #9: Is the AMU a Climate Control Unit? Yes/No Answer #9: Temperature control only.
Question #10: If Climate Controlled what is the desired output design (example 70 degrees F 50% Rh) Answer #10: Desired temperature control is in the range of 67-72 degrees Fahrenheit.
Question #11: Is heat recovery required?
Answer #11: Heat recovery not required per 2 above
Question #12: What grit size is the zirconia alumina blast media?
Answer #12: 20/30, 0.033”/0.023”
Question #13: What is the current CFM draw on the existing dust collector? If this is not available, what is the current blower motor size on the dust collector?
Answer #13: 28,000 cfm
Question #14: How many additional blasting units is the dust collector supporting? What is their cabinet size?
Answer #14: 11, 2@3’x4’x6’, 1@8’x12’x8’, 8@5’x5’x5’
