QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

W15QKN-21-R-5014

Personal Protective Equipment & Laundry Services (multiple locations) April 22, 2021

1. Who is the current, incumbent supplier providing these services (Personal Protective Coveralls) to this activity presently? (the last time this was solicited, who was the awardee?)

A: This is a new requirement that has not been previously solicited.

1. There are two types of uniform sets required – each 11 shirts, 11 pants, and 2 jackets – but the difference is in the shirts. Two different kinds of shirts are required (a long-sleeved work shirt, and a polo shirt). The two shirts cost significantly different, so it is difficult to propose a price for a particular location based solely on the # of minimum wearers (as you’ve presented) without having knowledge of how many (quantity of wearers we are quoting for) at each location are projected to wear the work shirts (shop employees) versus how many would be in the polo shirts (office personnel)? The unit price/person for the unit of issue (11s, 11p. 2j) would be different for those wearing the flame-resistant long-sleeve work shirts than it would be for those wearing flame-resistant polo shirts with the same pants and jackets. For example, if a location had 50 wearers, the price would be considerably different if there were only 2-3 office workers (requiring polos) and 45 others, then if it was 15 office workers (requiring polos shirts) and only 35 others, due to the significant differences in the cost of the shirts. Therefore, to properly provide a quote based on a minimum # of people in each location, we’d need the number of wearers broken down by type of worker/uniform shirts – how many office workers vs shop workers at each location. Please advise.

A: See ‘ATTACHMENT E’ for a breakdown of polo shirts and work shirts required. These are all estimated quantities for the solicitation at this time.

1. For the Fire resistant PPE, 65/35 is not Fire resistant. Should a true FR item be quoted or 65/35 cotton poly blend? What I mean is anything with polyester is not FR.

A: Yes, please offer a true Fire/Flame Resistant item.

1. Who is the Incumbent, what is the contract number and what is the dollar amount if this is not a new requirement?

A: This is a new requirement and there is no incumbent information.

1. I need to understand the specifics on the coveralls. Are they FR Garments, Blended, 100% Cotton, Enhanced-Vis, etc.?

A: Please offer a true Fire/Flame Resistant item.
