Additional mandatory requirements derived from US Navy Diving Manual Rev 7 CH-A Para. 6-2.2.2.6 include: ample dressing space for divers, USCG-required lifesaving and safety equipment, a reliable engine, capacity to carry all diving safety equipment, a well-trained crew, head facilities for topside personnel, unit SOP equipment (binoculars, fresh water, charts), and an area where UCT personnel can attach a ladder for diver extraction. Optional capabilities include crane availability for cargo operations, berthing accommodations, mess support, and LARSS crew if a Diver Launch and Recovery System is utilized. The operation is scheduled for Pensacola, FL during November-December 2026 within a two-week execution window.
