About this file

This is a Vendor Questions and Answers document related to a water softener replacement procurement by the Illinois Secretary of State. The contract opportunity (27PS013101 / PPE-07-0104) seeks bids for two water softener systems to be installed at the Secretary of State's facility located at 315 N. Klein, Springfield, Illinois 62756. The Illinois Secretary of State's plumbing staff will handle installation, while the awarded vendor will coordinate system startup following completion. The existing water infrastructure includes a 2-inch water line connected to a 4-inch header with available flow rates of 60-90 GPM at 55 psi and a peak demand history of 40 GPM. The current softener system is a Culligan CSM-900-02 unit with specifications including a service minimum of 19.2 GPM, continuous capacity of 96 GPM, peak capacity of 127 GPM, 30 cubic feet of resin, and a capacity of 900,000 grains per tank, along with an existing brine tank.

No specifications, drawings, or prints of the existing system are available for distribution to bidders. Vendors responding to this RFQ should base their proposals on the information provided regarding water flow requirements, existing equipment specifications, and site conditions at the Springfield location.
