About this file
This is a Vendor Question and Answer document related to a specialty paper replenishment contract (26-350SOS-COMM3-B-50973) for an unspecified Illinois state agency. The document addresses vendor inquiries regarding product specifications and purchase parameters. Key clarifications include: the agency requests 300,000 sheets of paper, which the vendor proposes to fulfill with 93 cartons containing 297,600 sheets (rounded down from the stated quantity); 11x17 20# recycled bond paper with 30% recycled content is acceptable; and 11x17 Goldenrod in 20# bond weight is unavailable, with the vendor suggesting 60# vellum or 50# text/offset as alternatives in that size and color. The vendor confirms this is a one-time purchase rather than an ongoing supply arrangement.
The document provides limited pricing information and does not detail contract terms, funding sources, or award timelines. The vendor acknowledges that additional questions and answers are pending and will be compiled in subsequent Q&A sets. No information is provided regarding bid due dates, evaluation criteria, or contract duration. The response indicates ongoing communication between the state agency and vendor to resolve product specification discrepancies prior to final bidding or contract award.

Vendor Q & A Set 1 Replenish Specialty Paper
26-350SOS-COMM3-B-50973
1. You asked for 300,000 sheets. This product is packed at the mill in cartons of 3,200 sheets. That is not divisible into 300,000 equally. Is there a preference to round up or down?
Round Down. We can do 93 cartons for 297,600 sheets.
2. Getting you a price on 11X17 20# recycled bond is no problem. The bid does not list the percent of recycled content. 30% is most common.
There is nothing on the label for our existing #20 11x17 (#3) for the recycled content. If 30% is common, that is fine.
3. 11X17 Goldenrod is not made currently in 20#. You list 20# which is bond weight. That is equivalent to 50# Text or Offset. The closest you are going to get in 11X17 Goldenrod packaged in reams and cartons from the mill will be 60# vellum. Or we would have to cut 23X35 50# down and repackage it in our facility for you and I do not think that is what you want. They do make Canary yellow in 11X17 20# and they make the Goldenrod in 20# but only in 8 1/2 X 11.
#50 text or offset would be comparable for a replacement for us.
4. Is this a one-time purchase?
Yes, this is a one-time purchase
(Please note that there may be questions you submitted that you do not see on here. There are still outstanding questions that we are working on gathering answers for. They will be added to another Q & A set once we have answers.)
