Part 1 General Information
1. General: This is a non-personal service(s) contract under which the personnel rendering the service(s) are not subject, either by the contract’s terms or by the manner of its administration, to the supervision and control usually prevailing in relationships between the Government and its employees.
1.1 Description of Services/Introduction:
TimsTOF & Evosept Service Agreement: This is a non-personal service(s) contract to provide the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease (USAMRIID) an annual preventative maintenance service plan to allow for the continuous and efficient functioning of the Bruker timsTOF S/N: 191134200103 and Evosep S/N: 1000S00612 used by the Molecular Biology (MolBio) Division at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). USAMRIID is the premier Department of Defense (DOD) laboratory for medical biological defense research. MolBio is responsible for definitive characterization of unknown, emerging, and synthetic biothreats that reduce warfighter readiness, as well as development of novel biodefense capabilities. Continuous support for the Bruker timsTOF is an essential component of threat characterization and development of new capabilities. While its core mission is to protect the warfighter from biological threats, USAMRIID also investigates disease outbreaks and threats to public health. Research conducted at USAMRIID leads to medical solutions - therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostics, and information that benefit both military personnel and civilians. USAMRIID is a subordinate laboratory of the Defense Health Agency Research and Development (DHA R&D) - U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) at Fort Detrick, located in Frederick, MD.
MALDI Biotyper Preventative Maintenance: This is a non-personal service(s) contract to provide the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease (USAMRIID) an annual preventative maintenance service plan to allow for the continuous and efficient functioning of the Bruker LabScape Complete 48 MALDI Biotyper S/N: 189013240736 used International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and/or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments/Program (CLIA/CLIP) regulated work. The Diagnostic Systems Division (DSD) at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) develops assays for the detection and diagnosis of infectious diseases. These assays are utilized for 42 CFR 493 regulated human diagnostic (clinical) testing and ISO accredited environmental testing for submission to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). USAMRIID has served as the Department of Defense's (DOD) lead laboratory for medical biological defense research.
1.2 Background: USAMRIID works closely with DHA, USAMRDC organizations, DoD, the Interagency (including Interagency Laboratories), and private companies to accomplish its mission of protecting the Warfighter from biological threats and being prepared to investigate disease outbreaks or threats to public health.
TimsTOF & Evosep Service Agreement: Execution of this mission requires regular maintenance on critical equipment including the Bruker timsTOF S/N: 191134200103 and Evosep S/N: 1000S00612. These instruments enable MolBio an expanded toolset to characterize a wide range of biothreats, which is essential for national security.
MALDI Biotyper Preventative Maintenance: These capabilities require us to meet certain regulatory requirements for clinical and environmental. In particular, the Bruker LabScape Complete 48 MALDI Biotyper S/N: 189013240736 needs to have up-to-date certifications for operational use performed by qualified personnel. This instrument is critical to the Special Pathogens Laboratory’s ability to rapidly identify biological threats for both patient care and national security.
