Appendix A. Restrictions and Operating Information
A.1. Operate the UH-60A/L IAW the aircraft Operators Manual (see D.1.), except as modified by this AWR.
A.2. Operate the UH-60M IAW the aircraft Operator’s Manual (see D.2.) and AWR 1726 (see D.3.), except as modified by this AWR.
A.3. Operate the HH-60M IAW the aircraft Operator’s Manual (see D.2.), AWR 1726 (see D.3.) and AWR 1679 (see D.4.), except as modified by this AWR.
WARNING
The components used with this system have not been tested by the Army and may not protect the user's hearing from external helicopter noise or internal over amplification of voice communication.
A.4. The headset volume control should be turned down before the headsets are donned. The system should be removed from the aircraft whenever the mission does not require its use.
A.5. Aircrew members are required to wear a flight helmet and, therefore, are prohibited from wearing David Clark headsets while performing in-flight aircrew duties.
WARNING
The David Clark ICS has not undergone Safety of Flight (SoF) Explosive Atmosphere testing and its potential to ignite flammable vapors has not yet been determined. The following restrictions shall apply in order to ensure safe flight while operating the David Clark ICS:
• The system shall be turned OFF during refueling operations.
• During ground operations, other than refueling, with ASDC powered ON, the aircraft shall remain the greatest distance practicable from all other aircraft and fuel sources, with a minimum safe distance of no less than fifty feet.
• During flight operations, the subject system shall remain OFF until the aircraft is in stable flight at mission profile altitude, with doors and/or windows open or other means of providing fresh air circulation, if possible.
FCDD-AMR 25 October 2023 R11
WARNING (cont.)
• The subject system shall be powered down prior to landing, if possible.
• The system shall be turned OFF during refueling operations.
NOTE
If the mission requires that the David Clark ICS be powered “ON” prior to takeoff, then it shall not be powered on until both engines have been started and stabilized at ground idle.
A.6. Operate the David Clark ICS IAW the Installation/Operating Instructions (see D.5.).
A.7. The night vision goggles (NVG) compatibility of nonstandard, especially commercial, equipment may not be controlled or even specified by the manufacturer;
therefore, before any other nonstandard equipment is operated during NVG flight, the equipment must successfully pass the NVG evaluation contained in Appendix C.

Appendix B. Configuration and Installation Detail
B.1. The basic UH-60A/L helicopter is defined in the aircraft Operator’s Manual (see D.1.) and this AWR.
B.2. The basic UH-60M is defined in the aircraft Operator’s Manual (see D.2.) and AWR 1726 (see D.3.), except as modified by this AWR.
B.3. The HH-60M is described in the aircraft Operator’s Manual (see D.2.), AWR 1726 (see D.3.), and AWR 1679 (see D.4.), except as modified by this AWR.
B.4. The David Clark ICS shall be installed IAW Installation/Operating Instructions (see D.5. through D.7.), Wiring Diagram (see D.8.) and memorandum (see D.9.). The David Clark ICS is isolated from the aircraft crewmember ICS and consists of a U3800 master station, up to five U3806 remote headset stations, a C3820 power cable, C38-12 (and C3402) jumper cords, C35-08 belt station, and H3530 noise-attenuating headset(s). The U3800 master station (and excess cable length) is stowed in the stowage bag on the back of the crewchief/gunner seat and the U3806 remote handset stations (and excess cable lengths) are stowed in the stowage bag on the back of troop seats. The power cable is connected to J258, the utility DC power receptacle. The jumper cords can be routed overhead behind the soundproofing or taped to the cabin floor (to prevent a trip hazard).
B.5. Deleted
B.6. Any physical, electrical, or operational interference between this installation and any/all other standard or nonstandard equipment (i.e., equipment that is not described by the UH-60 Operator's Manual or MWO) installations shall be reported to the POC of this AWR for corrective actions prior to continued installation or subsequent flight operations. Application of an MWO takes precedence over any installed nonstandard equipment. Additional testing and/or analysis may be required to support compatibility between this installation and any/all existing nonstandard equipment.

Appendix C. Inspections, Maintenance, and Logbook Instructions
C.1. Deleted
C.2. A qualitative Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Check shall be conducted IAW the EMC Checklist (D.11.), on at least one aircraft of each different configuration, prior to first flight with the newly installed equipment. A copy of the completed EMC checklist shall be provided to the POCs of this AWR or usarmy.redstone.devcom-avmc.mbx.amr-au-tts@army.mil.
C.3. Prior to NVG flight, the Compatibility Check in paragraph 4-210 of TC 3-04.4 shall be conducted.
C.4. Any/all logistics support required to be provided for such equipment/system installation must be established and maintained by the operating unit with appropriate, locally established, support activities. Parts needed for this modification may not be available in the supply system. Your activity/facility must locally procure/manufacture the modification parts (plus any additional spare parts). This AWR is not authorization to procure any material or sources "Sole Source."
C.5. In the event any operating limits established by this release is exceeded, in addition to the normal entry on Department of the Army (DA) Form 2408-13-1, appropriate inspections for security and condition of modifications shall be performed prior to next flight. Any incident or malfunction of the aircraft suspected of being related to these configuration modifications shall be reported immediately to the POC.
C.6. This helicopter shall be returned to standard configuration prior to transfer or turn-in to an overhaul facility.
C.7. Aircraft Logbook Entries: In accordance with DA Pamphlet 738-751, the following entries shall be made on the DA Form 2408-13-1 and shall be perpetuated on each form during the period of installation or until superseded by another AWR, or until reason for limitation is removed. Any recurring maintenance action may be entered on the DA Form 2408-18. Enter the required action, frequency, when due, and AWR number on the DA Form 2408-18.
