About this file
This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPUD) for the supply of various types of gloves. The RFQ solicits quotations for six categories of gloves: latex exam gloves, nitrile exam gloves in multiple brands and specifications, cow grain leather gloves, dotted knit gloves, PIP coated gloves, and work gloves with foam nitrile palm coating. The bid consists of 38 line items covering multiple sizes (Small through XX-Large) across the glove categories. Questions must be submitted by July 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with answers posted by July 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Bids are due by July 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM and must be submitted electronically through the Long Beach Buys portal. The contract term is two years. Delivery must occur within five business days of order placement to one of two LBPUD warehouse locations in Long Beach, with deliveries scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM.
Bidders must provide unit pricing for all 38 line items and may propose a single fixed percentage discount on unlisted items. Unit prices are held firm for the one-year contract term, with no price increases or discount decreases permitted; LBPUD reserves the right to cancel the contract if prices are increased or discounts decreased. Local preference applies, allowing Long Beach-based businesses with a current business license and seller's permit a ten percent bid price reduction for evaluation purposes (though payment would be at the actual quoted price). No minimum order requirements are imposed. Bidders must confirm they have been in business providing gloves for at least three years, agree to firm pricing for two years, confirm deliveries within five business days, and offer emergency/urgent order services. All items must be new and unused and meet the specified requirements. The awarded contractor must carry comprehensive general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and submit a valid Long Beach Business License prior to contract execution.
