About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to Request for Quotation UD-26-343 issued by Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPUD) on July 15, 2026, for the procurement of gloves. The addendum addresses seven bidder questions and supersedes language in the original RFQ. Six glove types are included in the procurement: Latex (approximately 150 units per order, 1-2 orders annually), Nitrile (approximately 400 units per order, 2-3 orders annually), Cow Grain Leather (approximately 30 units per order, 1 order annually), Dotted Knit (approximately 50 units per order, 1-2 orders annually), PIP Coated (approximately 1 unit per order, 1 order annually), and Work gloves (approximately 30 units per order, 1 order annually). Orders are placed on an as-needed basis for inventory. LBPUD explicitly cautions bidders not to rely on past usage or ordering history for quantities and reserves the right to purchase more or less than listed amounts, with no guarantee of usage or that all items will be ordered during the contract term.
There is no previous bid or award history for this RFQ, as the gloves were previously purchased under separate contracts rather than through standalone competitive procurement. The RFQ does not require bidders to maintain a local warehouse. Bidders are permitted to submit alternate or equal products in accordance with RFQ Sections XX (Makes, Models, & Brand Names) and XXI (Alternates or Exceptions), with the Bid Form Section including a column for alternate item information. Award methodology is referenced in RFQ Section IV. Basis of Award. The addendum must be acknowledged by signature and submitted with the bid, and any bidder who fails to submit it may be disqualified. Esme Houtepen, Utilities Procurement Representative, prepared the addendum.
