About this file
This Notice of Intent to Award is issued by the Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPUD) regarding the completion of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Professional Lab Services. Two proposals were received and evaluated for responsiveness to the RFP requirements and evaluation criteria. The LBPUD intends to award contracts to both responsive vendors: Eurofins Eaton Analytical, LLC and Weck Laboratories. The evaluation process considered responses to all questions, established evaluation criteria, and RFP requirements, with the LBPUD reserving the right to make awards in its best interests rather than automatically selecting the lowest-priced proposal. Proposals were kept confidential throughout the evaluation process until this notice of intent was issued.
The notice does not constitute a final award, and the selected vendors will receive formal contracts from LBPUD before any purchases may commence. No specific pricing information, contract terms, renewal options, or contract duration details are provided in this notice. The document is dated May 20, 2026, and is signed by Esme Houtepen on behalf of LBPUD.
