About this file
This document is a Questions and Responses record from Towson University's Request for Information (RFI) regarding Integrated Student Experience, Degree Planning, and Advising solutions, issued March 16, 2026. Towson University is seeking vendor recommendations for modernizing and streamlining the student experience from initial inquiry through graduation, with potential solutions involving artificial intelligence to enhance communication, advising, enrollment, curriculum planning, degree progress visibility, and student success. The RFI is intended to gather market intelligence regarding vendors' tools, platforms, or integrated ecosystems that can work within or alongside Towson's existing systems, including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Blackboard. Vendors may propose single or multiple integrated solutions, provided they address how multiple systems would integrate if applicable. No formal response deadline, bidder conference, or award date is specified in this document, as this RFI constitutes information gathering only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a formal solicitation or award a contract.
The RFI explicitly prohibits responding vendors from providing quotes; however, vendors are required to provide general cost estimates and breakdowns of potential costs associated with implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support. The university is open to responses from vendors with strong products in individual needed areas and seeks solutions that satisfy Towson's requirements, which may include single or multiple systems. Specific functionality requested includes alerts to faculty regarding proposed curriculum modifications, particularly notifications when students deviate from planned degree pathways due to failure, course withdrawal, or changes to course load. No set-asides, incumbent information, or specific funding amounts are identified in this document. Should Towson University decide to proceed, a formal solicitation vehicle may be issued at a future date.

Integrated Student Experience, Degree
Planning, and Advising No.: TU-2622
March 16, 2026
Questions and Responses No.: 1
Procurement 8000 York Road
Towson, MD 21252-0001
Question 1: Is the idea that you're procuring one solution for all of the project objectives or trying to get an understanding of different services and potentially purchase multiple tools that the team can piece together to address the objectives?
Responses: We would like to see response that satisfies TU’s requirements, which may or may not include multiple systems. We are open to responses from vendors with a strong product in one of the needed areas. If the proposal does happen to include multiple systems, then we would want the vendor to propose how they would integrate.
Question 2: In the introduction you indicate you are looking for "solutions." Does this mean you are willing to look at multiple products to achieve your desired functionalities or are you hoping for one comprehensive product?
Responses: We would like to see response that satisfies TU’s requirements, which may or may not include multiple systems. We are open to responses from vendors with a strong product in one of the needed areas. If the proposal does happen to include multiple systems, then we would want the vendor to propose how they would integrate.
Questions 3: You note under Modern Student-Centered Degree Pathway a desire for curriculum changes to "alert faculty to the impacts of proposed modifications"—What type of alerts would you be looking for
Responses: We don't have a preference to how this would be accomplished. An email sent from the system or a notification center in the software would accomplish what we need. An example of a notification we would like to see is when a student is off their planned degree pathway due to failure, withdrawing from courses, or changes to course load.
Question: 4 You note in the introductory paragraphs that "Furthermore, TU requires that all responding vendors abstain from providing any quotes in response to this RFI."
However, in the Questionnaire Response section you ask that we provide a general cost estimate for the project and a general breakdown of potential costs associated with implementation, maintenance, & ongoing support. Should we provide cost estimates or not
Responses: Please provide a cost estimate only
