1. The TIC must be compliant to NFPA 1801-2021 standards.

2. The TIC shall be from a single source manufacturer. For the purposes of this specification, single source shall mean the camera product is manufactured/assembled and serviced by the manufacturer. Warranty/Service facilities shall be owned and operated by the single source manufacturer.

3. The TIC shall be hand-held.

4. The materials used in construction of the TIC system shall be new, unused, and not less than the quality conforming to modern engineering and manufacturing practices. Materials shall be free of defects and suitable for the service intended.

5. The TIC system delivered to these specifications shall be a nationally available standard commercial product.

6. Stored thermal images may be accessed for on-scene review, off-site analysis, or training purposes.

7. The product batteries are warranted for a period of two (2) years from the Purchase Date

8. Product components (excluding batteries and sensors) are warranted for a period of five (5) years from the Purchase Date

9. Uncooled thermal camera sensors are warranted for a period of ten (10) years from the Purchase

Date

10. The TIC shall be intrinsically safe certified according to ANSI/ISA 12.12.01 (Class I, Div. 2, Gas

Groups C and D).

11. The TIC shall meet International Test Standard CEI IEC 529 (IP-67) that includes short-term immersion in water to a depth of up to 3 feet, a 6 foot repeated concrete drop test and other requirements within the standard.

12. The TIC shall use a single gloved hand accessible push type control to energize and de-energize the TIC. The TIC shall render a usable thermal and 20 seconds or less from on/off mode. If the camera is equipped with a “Sleep Mode” it shall render an image in 5 seconds.

13. The TIC shall include an LCD display that is no less than 4” diagonally. The TIC shall have a minimum Field of View (FOV) of 51° x 38°.

14. The total weight of the TIC shall not exceed 2.7 pounds with the battery installed.

15. The TIC shall have a minimum of a 320 × 240 Vanadium Oxide (VoX) Microbolometer. (No

Exception).

16. The TIC shall have a LED backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) screen. The display shall be 320 x

240 resolution or better. (No Exception).

17. The TIC shall have a refresh rate of 60 Hz or faster.

18. The TIC shall exhibit the ability to evade whiteout when pointed directly at flames.

19. The TIC shall have a saturation temperature of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. (No

Exception).

20. The TIC shall have a dynamic range of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit or more.

21. The imager shall at a minimum have two conforming to NFPA specification modes of operation.

Default Basic TI Mode and Black and white TI. The screen, when in default mode, displays a direct digital temperature readout, battery level indicator, temperature reference bar, temperature bar, Temperature that shall read in Fahrenheit. A mode indicator shall be displayed on screen.

The TIC shall utilize a tri-color automatic colorization mode that utilizes shades of yellow, orange, and red to identify specific temperature ranges. It shall have digital spot temperature readout to assist the firefighter with temperature comprehension.

22. Each user-removable battery, shall be capable of providing 4 hours continuous use with a single charge. (No Exception)

23. The battery shall be contained in a sealed battery pack and must be capable of being loaded only one way while wearing standard firefighting gloves.

24. The camera shall include image caption and onboard video record/playback for up to 200 onboard images and up to 200 - 5-min videos. Stored digital images and video shall be capable of being downloaded to the user’s computer via USB.

25. The TIC shall include a self-retracting strap capable of holding the unit to the firefighter’s body with the full weight of the imager, with battery, hanging unsupported from the strap.

26. The TIC shall be provided with two (2) Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries.

27. The battery shall be contained in a sealed battery pack and must be capable of being loaded only one way while wearing standard firefighting gloves.

28. The system shall save files in time date stamped files for documentation purposes.

29. The TIC shall have a minimum of two sensitivity ranges that shall be completely automatic when the camera is in its default and black and white modes.
