About this file
The document is a Sole Source Notification (SSN) issued by the University of Wyoming's Procurement and Payment Services on April 29, 2025. The university intends to purchase a Luxendo LCS SPIM – Basic System (Model L-LCS-02) from Bruker Nano, Inc. for a NIH-funded neuroscience research study focusing on whole-brain neural circuit mapping in transgenic mice. The specific system requires multiple technical components, including 488 nm, 561 nm, and 642 nm lasers, specific bandpass filters, Flatfield Correction and TileNavigator software modules, and installation with training. Electronic submissions for potential alternative providers are due by 2:00 PM (Mountain Time) on May 6, 2025, through BidNet's electronic solicitation portal.
The sole source procurement is justified by the system's unique technical requirements, including its optimization for large cleared samples with quartz cuvette mounting, compatibility with clearing protocols like CLARITY and iDISCO, motorized stage, programmable optics for gentle imaging, and an open TCP/IP interface for custom Python-based analysis pipelines. The university emphasizes that this notice is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive quotes, with the final determination to conduct a competitive solicitation remaining solely at the university's discretion. Any interested parties must submit a comprehensive Statement of Capabilities detailing how they might meet the specified requirements.

SOLE SOURCE NOTIFICATION (SSN) -TGP-2025-16
Proposed Sole Source Purchase for Neuroscience Light-Sheet Imaging Equipment
The University of Wyoming (the University) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Bruker Nano for Neuroscience Light-Sheet Imaging Equipment. Any purchase order resulting from this proposed sole source will be governed by the University of Wyoming’s Terms and Conditions.
We seek to purchase the Luxendo LCS SPIM – Basic System (Model L-LCS-02) from Bruker Nano, Inc.
This system is essential for our NIH-funded study on whole-brain neural circuit mapping in transgenic mice expressing fluorescent reporters (e.g., GFP, tdTomato). Existing lab infrastructure (e.g., Bruker-owned software licenses, cleared sample protocols) requires compatibility with Bruker’s ecosystem including the following critical add-ons:
1. 488 nm, 561 nm, and 642 nm lasers (for multi-channel fluorescence imaging).
2. Bandpass filters (497–554 nm, 580–627 nm, 655–704 nm) for spectral separation.
3. Flatfield Correction and TileNavigator software modules for artifact-free 3D reconstruction.
4. Installation and training to ensure immediate operational readiness.
5. Unique Technical Requirements:
The Luxendo LCS SPIM is the only commercially available light-sheet microscope optimized for large cleared samples (e.g., whole mouse/rat brains, whole body/ adult mouse) with: Quartz cuvette mounting (refractive index range: 1.33–1.57) for compatibility with clearing protocols (CLARITY, iDISCO). Motorized stage and programmable optics for high-speed, gentle imaging of delicate neural structures. Open TCP/IP interface for custom automation with our Python-based analysis pipelines.
Any interested party that believes it can comprehensively provide a comparable product as noted above, shall submit a Statement of Capabilities in sufficient detail to determine if the specifications can be met.
University of Wyoming will only accept or consider electronic submissions received in BidNet’s electronic solicitation portal on or before 2:00 PM (MT) on May 6, 2025. Submissions received after this date and time or received outside of the BidNet portal may not be considered. The University shall be the sole judge in reviewing responses with regards to quality, performance, and price.
This notice is issued for informational purposes only and is NOT a request for competitive quotes or proposals. Information received will be considered to determine whether to conduct a competitive
SSN # TGP-2025-16-Neuroscience Light-Sheet Imaging Equipment Page 2 solicitation. A determination to not compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the University.
Any restrictions on the use or inspection of material contained within the statement of capabilities shall be clearly stated in the document itself. The Supplier must state specifically what elements of the statement of capabilities are to be considered confidential/proprietary. Confidential/proprietary information must be readily identified, marked, and separately packaged from the rest of the response. Co-mingling of confidential/proprietary and other information is NOT acceptable. Procurement Services will make a written determination as to the apparent validity of any request for confidentiality. The written decision of Procurement Services will be sent to the Supplier as required.
