About this file
This is a compliance document that establishes the ten-year funding limit requirement under the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997. The document requires the Legal Applicant to certify that the coalition applying for DFC Support Program grants has not received more than ten years of cumulative DFC funding. Key restrictions include: a Legal Applicant serving as Fiscal Agent may not receive DFC funds on behalf of a coalition that has already received ten years of funding; a 501(c)(3) coalition applying as its own Legal Applicant may receive no more than ten years of DFC funding; and any coalition that has received ten years of DFC funding through one or more Legal Applicants may not receive further DFC funding. The document functions as a mandatory assurance form requiring the signature and date of the Legal Applicant, along with identification of the coalition name and Legal Applicant name and title.
The compliance certification applies to the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program (CFDA 93.276), administered by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The program, established under Public Law 105-20, provides grants to community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth aged 18 and younger through collaborative efforts involving multiple community sectors. Applicants must confirm adherence to this ten-year funding cap as a condition of eligibility, with additional information potentially required to verify coalition status as new, unique, and distinct if needed.
