About this file

This document outlines the technical specifications for electric squirrel-cage induction motors required for a state or local government contract opportunity. The motors must be rated 460 volts, 10 to 25 horsepower, with a minimum 92% efficiency, and designed for use with variable frequency drives. Specific requirements include TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) severe-duty construction, NEMA Design B, Class F insulation, and a 1.15 service factor. The motors must comply with IEEE 841 and other relevant industry standards. Manufacturers of the motors, which may include General Electric, U.S. Electric Motor, and Marathon Motors, must submit shop drawings, descriptive data, and operation and maintenance manuals as part of the bid submittal. The motors are to be installed on hot and cold water pumps as part of a larger facility infrastructure project.

The pricing and commercial terms of the contract are not provided in this technical specification document. However, it can be inferred that this procurement is part of a larger state or local government infrastructure improvement initiative, with potential funding from a variety of public sources. The contract may involve set-asides or other socioeconomic requirements common in public sector procurements.
