About this file
This is a technical specification memo from Brookhaven National Laboratory's Collider Accelerator Department outlining requirements for two detector components managed by Brookhaven Science Associates for the U.S. Department of Energy.
The first component is a 51 S 51 /3 /LaCl detector assembly featuring a lanthanum chloride crystal with 50.8mm diameter, a 3-inch Hamamatsu PMT R6233 photomultiplier tube selected for compatibility with LaCl material, and an aluminum housing with 0.5mm radiation entrance window. The detector operates with negative high voltage and standard 8-stage, 14-pin base configuration. Operating temperature range is 5°C to 50°C with 8°C/hour rate tolerance, storage temperature is -20°C to 50°C with identical rate tolerance, and the unit must withstand normal environmental conditions excluding vacuum. Nuclear performance requirement specifies end-on photopeak height resolution at 662keV must not exceed 4.0% as a guaranteed value. Estimated lead time is 10 weeks from order acceptance and customer sales drawing approval for shipment from France. The second component is a Physics AS20 negative HV voltage divider (Part No. 6-4-6694) with passive components configured for 8 stages and 14-pin base, featuring SHV connector for negative high voltage input and BNC connector for anode signal output. A conformity certificate is required for this component. All technical data has been reviewed for compliance with ITAR, EAR, and 10 CFR Part 810 export regulations and may be released without export restrictions.
