About this file

This is a Tax Compliance Certification Instruction document for the Massachusetts state and local contract opportunity 2027-09 B25 Flooring Abatement. Bidders must demonstrate compliance with Commonwealth tax laws, specifically M.G.L. C. 62C, s.49A, by submitting an original or photocopy of a Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue within the past year. Plans for the flooring abatement project are available via email to stccbidclerk@stcc.edu upon request, which should include the company name, address, phone, fax, and project number (2027-09).

Bidders requesting a Certificate of Good Standing should submit applications to the Department of Revenue Taxpayer Services Division Certificate Unit, P.O. Box 7066, Boston, MA 02204, by telephone at (617) 887-6550 or fax at (617) 887-6262. The application must include the corporation's name, address, telephone number, reason for request, types of taxes to which the corporation is subject with corresponding Massachusetts identification numbers, and a signature from a major officer. Since certificate issuance typically requires several weeks, bidders should indicate in their request that the certificate is sought in connection with a Commonwealth solicitation with a deadline. If the tax certificate cannot be provided with the bid response, bidders must submit documentation verifying that the appropriate application has been filed, with the certificate required prior to final execution of the Standard Contract Form.
