About this file
This document is a Bid Amendment issued by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury's Division of Purchase and Property for Bid Solicitation #25DPP01189, concerning a statewide scrap metal collection, recycling, and disposal contract (T2634). The amendment, dated October 7, 2025, revises the original solicitation by changing the quote submission date to Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. An optional pre-quote conference was held on September 4, 2025, with one firm (Mazza Recycling) in attendance. The contract seeks contractors to collect, recycle, and dispose of seven specific metal types across three geographical regions (Northern, Central, and Southern) involving 45 locations in 19 counties.
The procurement will operate as a rebate program where contractors will reimburse the state a percentage of current scrap metal prices based on the American Metal Market Scrap Index. Bidders must submit quotes for all price lines within their chosen region, with the state intending to award one contract per region for a three-year term, potentially extendable for three additional years. The solicitation includes set-asides for small businesses and preferences for disabled veteran-owned businesses. Contractors will be responsible for providing containers, performing pickups, weighing materials, and submitting monthly statements. The contract will be available to various state agencies and intrastate cooperative purchasing participants, including counties, municipalities, and school districts.
